It was early afternoon among the desert of Route Three. Unusual to be seen on this route, a Pokémon glided along on silent wings. She made no sound, not a click of her beak, not a ruffle of feathers, and she flew swiftly, powerfully, and gracefully. Those smooth brown feathers were stretched out, and she flapped them lazily, catching up with something ahead. Her red eyes shone in the blazing sun, and her soft brown plumage had a perfect sheen to them. Her beak opened, emitting a sound; a hoot, warning another Pokémon that she was there. The Noctowl slowed as she came level with the other Pokémon, flying alongside her.
This other Pokémon was also unusual to find here. In fact, it was practically ridiculous. After all, Suicune were not only legendary Pokémon, but Water types, too! This Suicune looked fairly weak, tired, a healing wound on her flank and leg. Other than those, her soft thick pale blue fur remained unbroken but for the white diamonds over her. The ribbons either side of her flicked, and the girl to one side of her cautiously placed a hand in the fur beneath her mane. This girl was an shiny Espeon Pokémorph, and the trainer of both the Noctowl, Suicune, and also of the Absol, Luxio, Leovine and Blaredog which were following them. Her name was Sulteron.
Her long tail was flicking from side to side, her brow dotted in beads of sweat. It was so hot out here in the desert. Her throat was dry, but she wanted to save the precious water. She had been concerned for Segonami, the Suicune, but she seemed to be managing fine, uneffected by the climate. Teya the Noctowl, Hasha the Leovine and Denkou the Luxio remained impatial, but Tayeko the Absol was grumpy at the huge amount of light and Lenyi the Blaredog was in overly high spirits, extremely pleased at the heat and light, being a Fire type.
Tayeko tossed his pink mane, red muzzle sniffing something. His icey blue eyes were fixed on a spot, and his tail wagged gently. The shiny barked, nodding towards the thing. ~Sulteron, look!~ he yipped excitedly. Sulteron squinted with her lilac eyes, Jizu, her daemon, standing as tall as he could on her head as a Sentret, before fluttering higher as a sharp-eyed Pidgeot. He landed on the ground as a Flareon, smiling. They had all seen it now. A cave. They walked briskly towards it; Tayeko insisted on hurrying. He waited inside the entrance.
When Sulteron caught up with her, he gave her a girn.~It's nice and dark in here.~ he said as their eyes adjusted. The cave was an odd thing, seeming to be dug from the sand by a Pokémon; she had to stoop over to stand. "Tayeko, I think this is a Pokémon's burrow." she said, the wolf shrugged. ~If we run into anything, we can just battle them!~ he insisted. Sulteron sighed; the other Pokémon seemed fine with the idea of exploring this for a bit. Except for Lenyi, but she came around at the prospect of a battle. "Come on then, guys, let's explore." she said, leading the way down the Pokémon's burrow. It was only a few degrees cooler than it had been inside, but the sandy walls offered good insulation, and it soon was at a pleasant temperature.

It was a pokemon's burrow, but most of the pokemon in this burrow had recently evolved and flown away, as was the custom for Vibrava and Flygon. Now all that was left were some Trapinch, one of which was brave enough to get in front of the party. It was afraid of most of this group, as nearly half of them were either super effective or resistant to any of it's attacks. But it wanted to fight either the Luxio or the Absol, that would be fun.

Sulteron smiled as she saw the Trapinch. That would be a reasonable explanation for the burrow, of course. With that big jaw she could see, Trapinch would have no trouble digging something like this. She quite liked Trapinch, too. They evolved into Flygon, a totally awesome dragon like Pokémon. She'd be able to teach it the HM Fly, too, when it evolved. That would be really useful, although it didn't learn many moves and didn't evolve until level thirty-five.
Sego tossed her mane, bowing her head to the creature in welcome before nuging Tayeko. ~I believe it has it's eyes on you and Denkou, Tayeko.~ she told him quietly. He nodded, smiling. The shiny Absol looked at Sulteron. He knew it wouldn't be such a good idea for Denkou to fight Trapinch, what with her weakness to Ground types. Therefore, he would be perfect for the job. ~Sulteron, may I fight?~ he asked, a little excitement lacing his voice.
Sulteron nodded, and he stepped forwards. "Shadow Ball!" she said, starting straight into the battle. Tayeko opened his mouth, beads of dark energy forming. This grew into a wobbly sort of black-purple orb, and then he spat it towards Trapinch.

Seeing the Absol step forward Trapinch raised it's head, a Dark Type, that wouldn't be so good. It only knew Dark Type offensive moves, so this Absol wouldn't be hurt too much. It saw the Shadow ball coming and vanished, appearing again right in front of Tayeko to complete the Faint Attack

Sulteron bit her lip as Tayeko winced and yelped in surprise as Trapinch both dodged his attack and caused him pain. The red and pink wolf might be not so effected by that move, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. It was annoying, too, for the fact that it could help a slow Trapinch dodge a quick Absol's attacks. Well, better keep trying. Some form of weakness or something would crop up sooner or later, and then Sulteron would win! "Razor Wind!" she called.
Tayeko felt a breeze ruffle his pinkish fur. He smiling, cold blue eyes twinkling merrily. Rearing onto his hind legs, he sent a razor sharp blast of wind at Trapinch with his forelegs.

Trapinch tried using the Faint Attack again, after all why change a working strategy. It vanished and appeared directly in front of Absol, but didn't take the wind into effect and got pushed back anyway, though not as much as if it had been hit directly. It then began to scratch at the sand, sending it at Tayeko in a Sand Attack

Tayeko's face got a good dollop of sand in it. The Absol whined, rubbing his eyes furiously. Sulteron could see that this would only make things worse. Rubbing the sand would only rub it into the eyes, causing Tayeko pain and making it harder to recover his sight. No, the Absol would have to use a technique told to every child in the sandpit. "Tayeko, rubbing makes it worse! Just blink hard, and use a Faint Attack! Try and listen to Trapinch's breathing!" she called.
Tayeko nodded. The temptation to rub his eyes was insanely strong, but he resisted and just blinked a lot. He'd wiped away the worst of it, all that remained was a number of grains blurring up his vision. The shiny wolf listened out for the opponent's breathing, then vanished, reappearing somewhere. However, had he done this properly? Had he appeared in the right place?

((OOC: Birdy, I'm going to join this thread. We'll just say that Jax lost his match. I'll wait for an appropriate moment, though... if this ever gets going again...))

OOC:// Sorry just done Geography and a bit of English homework - so forgive the lack of invention adn creativity in this reply and sorry about the length and lack of detail too...
IC://Trapinch loked from side to side, panicking about where the Shiny Absol would reappear. But it was too late, he was knocked carelessly to the side as the dark type used a faint attack. Standing up, in more pain now, looked at the Absol. I fit was careful, and didn't make too much noise it should be fine right? Running forward, as silently as possible, the Trapinch opened its jaw and moved in for a Bite attack.

ooc// I understand, Angel. Jax, perhaps after the battle would be a good place to join.
ic// Tayeko was caught by the attack as he recovered from using the Faint Attack, howling in pain as he felt the terribly strong jaws clamp down hard. He wailed for several moments, before he managed to get the opponent off. He had taken a lot of damage from that, regardless of his type advantage. Sulteron could see this, and chewed her lip nervously. "It's all right, Tayeko! You're doing really well! Use another Shadow Ball!" she called.
Another blob of ghostly energy was formed by the Absol thanks to the wonderful TM he'd used, and went towards the Trapinch.

Trapinch was thrown backwards as the Absol shook him off - but it was alright because he had jumped at the same time and he landed peacefully a little way away from the dark type. Smiling to himself for the good landing he was pleased of, he opened his eyes only to be met with a pruple and black ghostly ball that took him completely off guard. He felt it hit his skin and it was like several pins and needles had just dug into him, but although the pain was severe the attack quickly dispersed and stopped. But Trapinch still recieved quite some damage. Wincing with one eyes closed and one leg almost lame, he stared at the Absol opposite that was sustaining damage too. Clikcing his tongue he swept his legs forward, creating a large cloud of dust and sand using his sand attack and then the force pushe dhim backwards into the snady abyss in mid air. With the cover of the sand attack he unleashe a faint attack on his opponent.

Faint Attack; a move which always hit no matter what. Trapinch didn't really need the cover of Sand Attack for that, but it was still extremely annoying for the Absol. He'd almost got the sand out his eyes from the last attack, and now this. He wiped a paw across his eyes, shaking his head to get out as much as possible. That wasn't too helpful, for there was a lot of sand around Trapinch anyway, so Tayeko still couldn't know. Trapinch's cover did mean that Tayeko didn't know to brace himself, and so the wolf cried out in pain as he saw the Ground type attacking through his blurry vision.
Sulteron winced, feeling sorry for him. Jizu, who was at that time in her arms as an Eevee, became a hissing Sandslash. He wanted them to gain a victory! Sulteron touched him gently, willing him to calm down. Sego was watching intently. ~This could go either way.~ she murmured. Sulteron shot her a vague smile, mind on the battle. Tayeko would have difficulty aiming, so he was restricted to using Faint Attack if he wanted a definate hit. "Faint Attack, don't worry!" she called, fingers crossed.
The red and pink Dark type scrambled awkwardly to his feet, then growled as he locked eyes with Trapinch. His form flickered, before disappearing; a Faint Attack, his weakened condition obvious in its declined strengh.

Trapinch let out a loud, sharp cry as Tayeko's Faint attack threw hit backwards a bit, even if it was declined in strength it still hurt alot because of the Trapinch's own weakened state. When he stopped sliding the sand, Trapinch stood on wobbly legs and glared at the absol. That had hurt! He knew he should be done for, but he couldn't let this wolf beat him. With a great effort, he was able to stop his body from trembling in weakness. He dug deep down to pull out one last ounce of strength. Rushing forward with impaired speed, his body flickered. Once. Twice. Three times. Surely his attack would conclude here and it did. Upon the fourth flicker he appeared right in front of the shiny absol and dropped to the ground, out cold.
Trapinch was defeated. Tayeko gains two levels

ooc// Jaxamar, now would be an excellent time to come in! Sai, I hope you don't mind if you held the next wild encounter for when he posts in this thread. Feel free to say whether Sulteron caught Trapinch or not, of course.
ic// Sulteron released a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding as she saw the Trapinch fall defeated to the ground. Thank goodness, Tayeko had won! The Absol smiled as he padded over to Sulteron, happy for his victory. Sego and Lenyi greeted him, and the rest of Sulteron's Pokémon smiled but looked quite tired. Sulteron checked her watch; it was, actually, getting late, so she returned all her Pokémon aside from Sego, Lenyi and Tayeko to their Pokéballs. Tayeko and Sego because they hated being in Pokéballs, Lenyi because she seemed to be enjoying the desert.
Sulteron then decided that she would try and catch the Trapinch. Flygon was one of her favourite Pokémon, so why not? Throwing a Pokéball, she watched intently to see the outcome. When this happened, whether she caught Trapinch or not she picked up the Pokémon and chose to leave the cave.
~Sulteron, why are you leaving the burrow? It's night, and the burrow will offer shelter.~ Sego asked her trainer. Sulteron was gazing at the clear stars. It was almost cool outside since it was winter and nighttime. Jizu was on her shoulder as a Riolu, and Tayeko was incredibly pleased by the fact that it was night. Sulteron could see Sego's point. "I know, but I'm curious about what sort of Pokémon come out at night in a desert." she said. Well, it was true.

ooc: Oh no, I don't mind at all birdy. This is soo much fun.....
ic: Trapinch was only dimly aware of when to pokeball hit it side and absorbed him. It rocked and shock light. The Trapinch inside mused for a bit on the thought of going with them. After a few more shakes, there was a soft ping. Well, he had been defeated and captured, too, so it didn't matter much what he decided. But it was probably a good thing that he'd decided that going with Sulteron would be a good idea on his plan of evolve.
Name: Species: Trapinch Gender: Male Level: 17 Ability: Hyper Cutter Attacks: Faint Attack, Bite, Sand Attack Personality: Tranpinch is the last of its clutch to still be in the den they hatched in. He desprately want to evolve into a Vibrava and the a Flygon. He aspires to be strong and is very untrusting of others. If he is met by someone stronger that he they instantly earn his respect.
