Just Keep Walking

[Birdybot]

Swablu grinned. Ooh, she'd heard about this Pokémon, but never seen one! A Pachirisu, right? She was pleased to see this Pokémon, excited about the new finding. She gave this Rini Pokémon a little bow. ~Hi, Rini! Yeah, I'm ready!~[/color] she chirrped happily, ready to give battling a try. She knew attacks, of course, so she would use them!

Swablu fluttered into the air, moving forwards to get to where the mouse was. She then dove directly downwards, using a strong but basic Flying type move, Peck.[/size]

Rini stared at the Swablu as it obviously wasn't intimidated at all, and didn't feel the least bit nervous from Rini's confident speech. But it flew at the Pachirisu nonetheless, and Rini wasn't the type of Pokemon to lose heart. Never. The Swablu's white beak dug into Rini's stomach and pushed her back. Skidding across the ground Rini scowled slightly. If only she had some electric type moves! But that's why she had to battle. Rima called out, Pichu still asleep in her arms,
"Rini use the Quick Attack that we practiced with Arwan! Not the zig-zag leap but just the zig-zag for now!"
Rini looked back at Rima. The zig-zag leap? She named it? Oh well. Rina went on all fours and pushed out, travelling forward in a zig-zag pattern. Left and forward. Right and forward. Left adn forward. Each time getting closer to Swablu and gaining sped. When she got close enough she hurtled forward with the final hit of the Quick Attack.

[Birdybot]

Swablu watched as Rini moved, zigzagging about. She kept changing her position so that the squirrel wounldn't hit her, but found this difficult as the Pachirisu was moving quickly. When she was properly messed up by trying to change her course so that she could dodge and attack, she found that Rini was moving straight for her, too fast to be dodged now. Swablu was struck painfully, crying out as she fell in the air. She managed to catch herself before she hit the ground, thankfully.

Swablu's eyes narrowed. This wouldn't be easy, this battling thing. She needed to practice! She should battle more after this so that it would be easier for her. Yes, that would be good. The little blue and white bird did not know what Rini's type was. It could be Electric, it could be normal, it could be both. The Flying type did not know. There was one way to find out, of course; she raced at the squirrel, using an Astonish.

[Angel]

Rini stopped and turned her head alone around and smiled, baring her razor teeth as her quick attack hit. However the smug smirk turned into a self annoyance scowl as the bird flew into the air. If you're going to knock your opponent into the air you don't do it to one with wings. Before the Pachirisu had time to react, the Swablu had swooped in with an astonish and the electric type rolled backwards as she was struck. Rima watched as Rini went tumbling and so, with Pichu asleep in her arms, raised herself onto her tip-toes and called out,
"Rini! Straighten your tail and go into the Sun! Then use the advantage in whatever way you see fit!"

Rini listened intently as she was tumbling around but distinguished her trainer's voice from all the banging and bumping she was receieving, so she did as Rima had said. As her tail came down for contact in the roll she straightened it and rebounded high into the ground and into the Sun. Hopefully, this would make Rini's position be in the Swablu's blind spot. This would work as an advantage. And so, staying in the Sun's rays, Rini flipped herself so that she was stream lined and so that her head and front paws were pointed toward the ground. Coming down rapidly due to her position, Rini hoped to land a Quick attack from above and collide with the flying/normal type Pokemon.

[Birdybot]

Swablu looked about frantically to try and see where Rimi had gone. It was sort of hard to fight against the panic, but she managed to keep calm. The bird thought she saw a dark shadow against the Sun, but she didn't look for very long; they tell you not to look directly at he Sun for a reason. Swablu blinked hard, trying to get rid of the red and black spots all over her vision. She couldn't see Rimi, she couldn't see much- then, to make it all worse, she saw Rimi. Colliding with her in a painful Quick Attack made faster by the fall.

Swablu didn't think she would last long if she was hit by a lot of that kind of attack. That was so painful! She growled, a sound of annoyance. The bird Pokémon fluttered her cloudy wings, rising into the air. She drifted smoothly and swiftly towards the Pachirisu, aiming another Peck right at Rimi. She wanted to attack, to win!

[Angel]

Rima watched and knew that these constant quick attacks weren't going to wear this Swablu down easily or defeat it soon. It was a gamble but it was worth it and it was time to use it,
"Rini use bide quick!"
Rini acted immediately before the peck attack came close she wrapped herself in a tight ball before the collision happened. Hoping to add this peck attack to her bide counter a few turns later.

[Birdybot]

Swablu recognised the Bide attack as she moved out of the Peck. That meant that later on, the Peck would be used against her. But, until then, Rini would not do anything. She could either do stat-changers, or attack with all her might in an attempt to defeat Rini before the Bide was released. She supposed the second option would be the one she would pick now, since she'd already started it. The bird Pokémon smiled through her beak. That could work, she supposed. Rini was already weakened a little, so hopefully it wouldn't take an extreme amount more to finish her.

Swablu was ready to use an attack. Astonish or Peck... why not Astonish, for a little variety? The fluffy cloud like Pokémon landed, and hopped closer to where Rini was concentrating on storing energy. This really would be too easy. She'd just attack, and Rini wouldn't dodge. She suddenly attacked to test this theory, using an Astonish attack.

[Angel]

Rini staayed tucked tight in her fluffy ball. She felt the astonish hit an she wince withitn her fluffy sphere. But she remained in her bide state, only a few more turns, if she could hang on that long she coul unleash all of the damage and take out this carefree bird.

Rima stood watching, there wasn't much she could do at this point but encourage her Pachirisu. Suddenly there was a stir in her arms and her Pichu companion awoke. Sleepily rubbing his eyes he sat himself up and the blurry scene in front of him became clear and he saw his friend. He leapt up in Rima's arms and flurried his own about,
"Rini! Rini! You can do it!"
Rima watched her little yellow companion and then looked down at her dameon. Ven yawned an replied with,
"Encouragement from the little fellow."
Rima nodded and smiled. She then began to copy what the creature in her arms was doing: jumping up and down and waving her arms, shouting encouragement to the fluffy electric type in battle.

[Birdybot]

Swablu looked at Pichu. Aw, he was so cute! She wanted to give him a biiiig hug, because he was so cute and fluffy and adorable- then she heard the cheers. Rimi? Oh, right, she was fighting in a battle against a Pachurisu names Rimi. Oops, she'd lost track of things while staring at the little cutie. The bird Pokémon fluttered her cloudy wings, a little annoyed that she'd been distracted. Then again, it didn't matter- Rimi was still bracing herself for her Bide attack.

The cottony Pokémon gave a soft chirp as she rose higher into the air. Rimi had taken two attacks now, and it was about to be three. She wouldn't be able to hold onto the Bide for much longer, and Swablu was starting to get just a little bit worried. What if Rimi released the Bide before Swablu could defeat her? Swablu would surely be defeated. That wasn't good. She couldn't stop now; she'd just have to pack a lot of punch in her next attack. A Peck sounded good, so she faced directly downwards, and dropped so quickly the power of her Peck attack would likely be twice a normal Peck.

[Angel]

Rima watched as the Swablu was diving downwards at rapid speed. She was getting closer and closer and faster and faster. Ven was watching in panic. He looked from Rini to Rima, thinking she would tell the Pachirisu to unleash the attack because of the closeness. Swablu was seconds away and still Rima did nothing.
"Rima."
Rima did not reply.
"Rima!"
Rima still watched without movement.
"Rima. Rima! Mover her!."
Swablu was way too close. Pichu looked away. But just as the peck was about to srike within three seconds, Rima saw Rini's fur twitch slightly and she yelled out,
"Rini! Now!"
The Pachirisu felt the force of the close peck and tilted her body in the knick of time as she rolled just out of the way. Her muscles twinged, and then uncurled her squirrely body and pounded one tiny fist where all the energy of the bide was against the Swablu's back. Maybe this would finish her off?

[Birdybot]

Swablu could see that Rimi was close to exhaustion with taking all those hits to build up her Bide attack. The bird frowned. Oh, no. Close to fainting wasn't good enough. She needed the cloudy Pokémon to be defeated, or- well, the Bide would be unleashed. It seemed that the hits Rimi had taken were enough to make her unable to hold it in any more. The blue Pokémon tried desperately to dodge, wings working like mad, but it was no use. She was struck by the little fist, light from the power of the attack exploding around it.

Swablu felt the intensive pain of the attacks she'd dealt on Rimi doubled in power. The bird shuddered, falling to the ground. She couldn't do this any more, it was too much work. No! She would never give up! She couldn't loose! The cotton Pokémon fluttered her complaining wings, rising a little into the air with great effort. But this was a mistake, and the effort doing this made her thud back to earth again, eyes closed. She had been defeated.

Swablu was defeated! Rimi gained two levels!

[Angel]

Rima looked out as the Swablu fainted. Rini had won! And that meant that maybe Rima could catch the rare bird! Not wasting a second, Rima threw a Pokeball out toward the bird, hoping it would be hers in the next few minutes. Ven sighed with a great deal of relief as the attack hit and he giggled slightly in thankfulness that Rini had not had a severe blow. His panic attack was over. The Vaporeon daemon jestered to the Pichu that was breathing deeply in Rima's arms. Pichu laughed and jumped down and landed on Ven's back where he ran the little yellow Pokemon to Rini. Rini was battered and bruised and crouching over and panting from exhaustion, that battle had really tested her stamina. Pichu gave her a hug and Rini gave a painful smile saying,
"What did 'ya expect?"
Ven, though it hurt him to give compliemnts too often, put a slipperly paw on the squirrel's head and said,
"You did well."
Rini smiled in reply. Then Rima, Rini, Pichu and Ven all watched the Pokeball that had been thrown at Swablu.

ic// The Pokéball tapped Swablu, drawing the cotton bird inside. She paniced when she found her facing the interior of a Pokéball. Gah! A trainer was trying to catch her! She gulped in surprise. What did you have to do in this situation? Oh, right. Force your way out. She knew that instinctly, somehow. She began to attack the walls of the Pokéball, but she was a fainted Pokémon and so very weak. The Pokéball shook violently, before falling still. But then it burst open.

Swablu broke out, free. She blinked in surprise, looking at the trainer. She should probably run away right now... but she didn't want. Come to think of it, she wouldn't mind being caught. ~Actually, I think I wanna go with you after all.~[/color] she said firmly, pecking the Pokéball and going back inside. This time it barely twitched before the Swablu was caught.

IC:// When Swablu escaped and tried to make a break for it, Rima felt a sense of abandonment once again, and she lowered her head. However she heard some soft tweets and lifted her head to see Swablu tap the Pokeball and mutter something. Ven gave a short laugh and looked up at his human saying,
"She wants to come along with us after all."
Rima picked up her daemon and gave him a veyr tight and happy hug before running after the Pokeball. But she saw it disappear as it was transported to her PC. Turning to her Pokemon, including putting Rini back inside her Pokeball, Rima, Ven and Pichu on her the human girl's shoulder ran toward the first city and the first gym. Ending the first part of their journey.
