Rima giggled as she held her Siny Meowth in her arms. She had taken out a brush and had started to comb bakc Mina's fur from her last battle - Mina smiled as she was pampered but showed a slight sign of anger at the misfortune of having to be cleaned so early on in the journey. She would get that rat of a Pokemon back soon enough. So Mina quietly lie in Rima's arms and licked her paws as the team carried on walking. Ven sighed and rolled his eyes as the feline Pokemon was pampered in her rtainers arms, and Pichu looked up questioningly at the Vaporeon by his side. He held a small paw to his mouth and murmered, "Um...Ven....I think that's your named...Anyway, why is Mina so angry?" Ven startled and looked to the tiny electric type that had joined their journey as a companion and smiled, "Well....she acts tough but she hates getting 'dirty'."
Mina glared down at the Vaporeon daemon. Ven laughed as the cat narrowerd its eyes at him and then looked back down to the Pichu, "She's never liked the indoors and had always wanted to be a coordinator partner but she's had to deal with trainers. But I bet she's fine." Pichu nodded confusingly as Ven laughed about his encounters with the shiny Meowth. Pichu just shrugged and carried on walking, maybe they would encounter something dangerous again....

A pair of red eyes narrowed at the spoilt Meowth. Didn't like getting dirty, eh? No-one liked getting dirty. But did anyone brush him? No. The Pichu had everything explained to it, really? If he didn't understand something, he had to go out and find out for himself. The Pokémon growled softly under his breath. He loathed these pampered wimps. He had always been the runt, the one left out, the one abandoned to fend for himself. Well, he was better because of it. He knew what things in this world were really like, behind the sugar-coated outer layer.
The green Pokémon padded out of the bush, his hiding place. He walked calmly into Rima's path, then stared her straight in the eye. The Bulbasaur looked fairly young, but in his eyes were hurt, hardship, but above all, a fiery determination which he devoted his soul to. He wanted to prove himself that he was useful to this planet. He snarled, a pose of battle. ~Bulba-saur!~

Rima stopped when the Bulbasaur walked into her path. Mina stopped licking herself and then rolled her eyes, Pichu jumped behind Ven and shivered and Rima looked down to Ven for a translation. Ven shook his head and laughed to himself as he sarcastically said, "No translation really Rima. I suppose I could say...Grrrrr....." Mina meowed in a bored tone and then tapped the Pokeball in Rima's belt and she disappeaed in a flash of red light. Wait? Wasn't that supposed to be Rima's decision? Rim felt teh feline disappear in her hands and then realised she had no battling Pokemon out with her. She thought about it and then decided whom she would battle with - after all she hadn't seen him battle yet. Rima hapily plucked a Pokeball from her belt and spun around as her blonde hair followed the path and then she threw the Pokeball out in front of her and giggled as the shape of a Riolu emerged.
Kei blinked when he was released and saw teh green plant Pokemon standing in front of him. He guessed eh would probably be battling the Bulbasaur and nodded. Rima clapped her hands in excitement as Pichu jumped onto her shoulder for safety and she smiled knwoignly, "Watch this Pichu. This is Kei, I'm sure he'll be great at battling!" Pichu stared out toward the Riolu who seemed calm adn safisticated. He cocked his head to one side and was ready to watch the battle. Rima cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted, "Let's start off with a Quick Attack Kei!" Kei pushed his left bakc paw backwards and then pushed off with it and headed toward the Bulbasuar with a Quick Attack, zig zagging as he got closer to damaging his foe.

Now, as I'm sure most people know, Bulbasaur are not exactly the fastest of Pokémon. Kei, and Riolu in general, were fairly fast Pokémon with good strength, speed and stamina. An all-rounder, you might say. However, Bulbasaur had high Denfense and Attack, but lacked the Speed. Since this was so, Kei easily outpaced Bulbasaur. The Grass type began to trot, rather fast for such a robust Pokémon, out the Riolu's path, but Kei simply zigzagged off at a different angle.
Bulbasaur was caught by the speeding Kei, and snarled in pain as he was thrown to the ground. Tossed aside, like before. Urgh. Anger pumped adrenalin through his veins as he couldn't help but let loose his emotions in a snarl of pure passionate fury. Bulbasaur was motivated, strength coming from his passion. Would it be enough to defeat Kei, though? Only the results of this battle would tell. The bulb Pokémon charged at Kei in a Tackle, simple and strong.

Kei was knocked high into the air as the grass type charged toward him adn pushed him up with a tackle attack. Though in pain a little, Kei managed to regain his balance whlst in the air adn flipped over and landed safetly on his two back paws, bending them to reduce the force he hit the ground with. Slowly he stood up and faced the Bulbasuar with a serious expression. The Bulbasuar definaetly vented some true anger through that last attack. But the battle had already started so what pulsed so much anger through its body?
Kei stepped forwdar slightly with one foot and stared at the Bulbsaur inquisitively but kindly, "What is wrong my friend? Why do you show so much anger?" But before Kei got an snwer Rima smiled and shouted another command, without even letting her daemon translate what the bulb Pokemon said. Sometimes she was maybe just too eager. "Kei, use another Quick Attack!" Kei shook his head and sighed - his trainer had bad timing but she did not know what he did. Instead he folloed his trainer as he was supposed to and ran once more toward the Bulbasuar with another quick attack. This time flipping over its body adn hitting it fro behind.

Bulbasaur watched as Kei asked him the polite question. ~Friend?!~ he spat, outraged. ~I don't have any friends! I'm the runt! I know the hard life, and no friends would befriend me!~ he snarled, hopping from one foot to the other.
Oh, an attack! That just proved that this Riolu wasn't a friend! Bulbasaur braced himself for the attack, knowing that it would be impossible to dodge. He was just too slow! He hated that about his kind. Well, there wasn't much he could do about that right now. Squeezing his eyes shut, the Grass type was flung through the air by the Fighting type as impact was made. He got to his feet, thankful for his high Defense stat, then charged in another Tackle.

OOC:// SOrry that it's a little long.
IC://Kei braced his arms in front of himself as the Bulbasaur came charging at him, they were crossed in front of him and he skidded along the ground as the grass type collided iwth him. After dealing with the damage he threw his arms to the side and eyed his opponent. Speaking to the Bulbsaur from the distance once again he said, "There are creatures all around the world, Pokemon and human alike that befriend others from all different bakcgrounds and characteristics." Rima watched as her Riolu, he wasn't doing anything - was swomething wrong she shouted out to him, "Kei! What are you doing? Use another-" "Rima."
Rima stopped and looked down to her side, Ven was staring at Kei and the Bulbsaur with a serious expresssiona cross his face. Rima was slightly confused and showed so on her face. She said softly, "Ven..." Ven satred out toward the two Pokemon locked in battle and said, "Let Kei continue - he's trying to help the Bulbasaur, he can do this but he needs some time." Pichu was shaking behind Ven and gently tugged on Rima's dress. Rima bent down to be as close eye level with the Pichu as posisble and stared at him, "I-I think Mr.Ven is right Miss Rima. I think Kei needs to be able to do things his way for a moment." Rima smiled and ruffled the Pichu's head then picked him up and held him in her arms as she nodded, watchign Kei. She didn't understand, but she trusted.
Kei then spoke again, "It seems that you have lived a difficult life but we can help you. But if you insist on attacking us, I have no choice. I'll do what I think is best for you, my friend." And with that Kei drew one of hsi paws back and into a battle position and closed his eyes - focusing his energy in his mind. This turn Kei would not use an offensive attack - he opened his eyes and sent a Foresight attack toward the Bulbasaur. Locking his gaze onto the Pokemon with a throb and lowering his evasiveness.

Bulbasaur sighed. This was bit of a dilema that he was facing here. Should he risk embarrassment and so on by actually accepting this stranger's sudden offer? He might end up being rejected again... he wasn't sure. On the surface, the Grass type still looked tough and hardened, not really someone you'd mess with. However, inside, he seemed to be breaking. The emotions caused by rejectedment made him feel confused when, now, all of a sudden, it seemed as if someone cared for him. And not just whether he lived or died, but whether he was happy or not... Swallowing, he held out a paw... and felt the Foresight.
Snarling, Bulbasaur's acceptance dwindled. However, something compelled him to accept anyway. The Riolu was loyal to his trainer, and so hopefully would be loyal to his friends. Bulbasaur nodded, breathing deeply.
~Hey, Bulbasaur, that you're boyfriend?~ cried a Pidgey in a mocking manner as it landed in front of the Grass type. Since Bulbasaur, being a runt, was rather small for his species, Pidgey was just as tall as him. Two other Pidgey, presumably the first's croonies, cackled. Pidgey cawed, slapping Bulbasaur around the face, making the Grass type wince. The others joined in, attacking Bulbasaur; clearly, there were bullies even among the Pokémon.

Rima smiled gently and happily as it seemed that her Riolu had reached the small Bulbasaur as he held out a paw. Kei smiled and held out his own paw with pride. But his smile turned to a scowl as Pidgey emerged and began to attack the grass type. Grass types were weak against flying types as it were and to bully one without reason was no the hounourable thing to do. Kei's eyes slowly narrowed as he sneered at the Pidgey before him. Rima gasped when she saw the Pidgey emerged - why were they doing that? They didn't have a good reason to! What had teh poor little Bulbasaur done to deserve treatment like that! Rima took a worried step forward before a blue and black blur sprinted past her and she watched as her Riolu dashed toward the Bulbasaur and Pidgey. Ven shouted after the Riolu, "Kei! Don't be too hasty!" But it was useless as the Riolu ignored the shouts from behind. His gaze ahd been locked onto the bullying Pidgey and he dashed toward them with a quick attack.
The Riolu ceased his attack when he came in between the Bulbasaur and trio of Pidgey - defending the Pokemon against them. His arms crossed like a shield he ceased the Pidgey's attack but he was getting hurt in the process - despite showing no sign of remorse or pain. He protect the Bulbasaur just as any decent Pokemon would and flailed his arms around as a warning to tell the Pidgey to leave. He would not move from his defensive position until the birds did so - if they chose not to leave then Kei would happily take them in a battle. Rima saw that th birds weren't backing off and so she glared at them and stomped toward the group a little distance away. Ven and Pichu followed after Rima - scurrying behind her with anger upon their faces (though Pichu didn't have scuh an exprssion, after all he was an innocent little guy). Rima bent down and picked up the injured Bulbasaur, hugging the small Pokemon in her arms and close to her chest. She glared down at the Pidgey as Ven and Pichu stood by her side and Kei slightly in front of her. They quad glared at the trio of Pidgey and Rima angrily and strictly said, "Leave. Now."

The leader Pidgey's eyes narrowed. ~Guys, back off. We ain't leaving, though.~ he ordered. The other two hesitantly stepped back. Pidgey looked Kai directly in the eye. ~All right, trainer's pet. I'll fight you. You and me. Whoever looses leaves. OK?~ he asked, extending a wing to make an offer. ~Or you could surrender now and be on your merry way.~ he spat.
Meanwhile, Bulbasaur made the most of the distraction and hurried to Rima, leaping into her arms for protection. He whimpered, clearly scared despite his efforts.

Kei looked the leader Pidgey directly in the eyes, his teethed bared at the bird. He didn't blink or make any reply except for sneering at the Pokemon, after all he couldn't accept a battle straight away. After all he was weak to flying type attacks and it was up to Rima. Rima blinked when all she heard was, "Pidge. Pi-Pi-Pidgey. Pidgey..." Etc, etc, etc. A lot of Pidgey words really. She clung to the trembling Bulbasaur tightly in arms, and then looked down at Ven - Ven had a serious expression on his face and seemed worried about Kei. He saw Rima looking down at him and then said seriously, "The Pidgey won' leave. This one here wants a battle....with Kei and whoever loses has to leave." Rima raised her eyes and stared intently at her Riolu. Being a fighting type he would be weak to flying type attacks if this Pidgey had any so he would automatically be at a disadvantage and if they lost - they would have to leave Bulbasaur to be bullied by these vicious birds. Rima thought to herself and then in monotone muttered, "We accept."
Kei, shocked by his trainer turned around surprised to look at her - he looked into her eyes with shock and stared; he had wanted to fight but the risk was too great. Rima just smiled and looked down at Kei with gentle eyes, "I believe in you Kei - that's why I know you'll win." A small smile spread across the Riolu's puppy like face and he nodded quickly - turning to face the Pidgey and holding out one paw, "You may begin our battle feeble Pidgey." Rima, with Bulbasaur in her arms, Pichu by her side and Ven all ran back a bit to give the two Pokemon space to battle.

Pidgey snarled at Kei. Or, tried as best as he could with a beak. His wings stretched out to make himself look larger, more menacing, as he cawed at the top of his voice in a battle cry. This wasn't an attack of any sort, it was more to show Kei who the boss was in this battle. All right, the boss wasn't him, or Kei; it was Rima, but Pidgey was still making an impression. The croonies behind him cawed and fluttered as well, cheering for him.
Firstly, Pidgey would test out Kei's abilities. The bird's wings flapped harder, caressing the air as Pidgey rose gently into the air. He was very streamlined, so this attack might do damage. The Pidgey flew like a dart at Kei, using a Tackle attack.

Kei adjusted his body to stand in a battle pose, it looked like he was about to use Karate - although he didn't know any moves like that. But he readied himself as the Pidgey soared toward him in the air and struck him with a full bodied tackle attack. Kei took the blow and skidded backwards as he held onto the Pidgey's weight. When he came to a halt he heard Rima shout to him, "Kei, use a Bite attack!" A Bite? It wasn't really a refined move, but it was an effective one. Kei didn't really like using it as it didn't match his attitude but Rima knew what she was doing. Still holding onto the Pidgey as it had attacked him with a tackle, Kei opened his jackal like jaw and bit down hard on the Pidgey's right wing. Then spinnig around he released his grip and threw the bird toward a large and sturdy tree trunk with quite a bit of power.

Pidgey yelped immedietly as he felt sharp teeth closing in on his feathers. What if the annoying Riolu broke his wing? That would be a dissaster! The bird twisted about, desperately attempting to break free of the iron grip, but failing. As he was flung towards the tree, he used his strong and weak wings as out as possible to slow him down. He struck the tree none the less, but just not quite so hard and painfully. Pidgey then, not trusting his aching wing to use a Tackle, flung sand at Kei, intending to reduce his accuracy.

OOC: It's nice to roleplay as loveable sweet Rima and her team again. But a lot of training neds to be done...
IC: Kei winced as the tiny particles of sand made their way into his eyes. They scratched at his eyes and Kei shook his head at an attempt to get rid of such a dirty trick. Most of the sand had left his face but they still stung a little - but not enough to hinder his performance. He looked around, his puppy like ears swiftly following every movement of his head. He spotted his opponent again as Rima shouted out, "Kei use Quick Attack to run toward the Pidgey, then rebound off the tree behind him and-" "Yes. I understand Rima." Kei interrupted his trainer so that their plan wasn't given away to the enemy. He knew what Rima was intending to say so he ran to the Pidgey as intructed and began to put their surprise attack into motion. First Kei would run toward the Pidgey, then jump over it in the nick of time, and then placing both hind paws on the tree trunk, push off of it and Quick Attack the Pidgey from behind. Using this method the push force from the tree combined with the Quick Attack's speed and power would increase the damage done to the Pidgey. So Kei ran toward the tree, Rima looking confused and Ven looked up and sighed, "He's got it. He knows what he's doing."
