Vera looked about as she set all four paws onto the earth road of route 1. the ground was still spongy and muddy from the recent rainfall, and the tall grass and plants around her glistened with drops of water. It took a single glance at the sky told her that it wouldn't rain again for a while yet, but would certainly do so again within a few hours. Her weather sense told her she had about two and a half hours to find shelter. Plenty of time, she thought, so see what kind of pokemon they could find on route one on such a wet and cloudfilled day.
The Tauric Arcanine morph looked down at her two pokemon. Kael the shiny Riolu was walking beside her, one hand on her flank to help keep himself upright on the soft, boggy sand. After nearly twenty years stuck in a pokeball, he looked to enjoying everything around him, even the somewhat icky feeling of getting sand stuck between one's pawpads. On the other side, walked Vera's daemon, Jax. Currently in his Houndoom from, his orange and cream fur provided quite the setting for the bundle of brown and pale cream fur hanging from his mouth. Just beofre entering the route, Jax had decided that the hyperactive bundle of fur that made up Shae the Eevee, Was that bit too hyperactive, and he had grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and refused to let go. For her part, Shae seemed to have decided that this was a fun was to travel, and had stopped struggling.
Vera's Arcanine ears twitched, as her sensitive hearing picked up the beat of wings, and the call of a Pidgeot. She worried for a moment, Such a strong pokemon shouldn't be found on this route, Before her eyes brought her an image, of a very familiar bird pokemon. Landing in front of her was Kamida, the Nikita family Delivery Pidgeot. From the look of the bag on his back, He had something important to give her.
"Kamida?" She took two steps forward, and held out a hand to the bird. He gently rubbed his beak against her hand, before turning to present her the pack ~Delivery!~ He chirped. Vera snorted "I can see that silly. Do you know what it is?" ~Egg~ He said. Kamida wasn't known for being particularly wordy, so Vera simply trusted that there would be an explanation inside as she removed the pack.
Carefully she lifted out a pokemon egg and a plain white envelope with her name on it. Opening the letter she read:
Dearest Vera: I hope my letter finds you well, and enjoying your journey through the Enera region just as much as you did the first parts of your journey through our beloved Johto. I have entrusted this special delivery to Kamida, as he is the only one I trust to make sure the egg reaches your safely. Cubia found it recently among the younger torchic. We are unsure as to where it came from, or what the egg contains, though we have determined that it is some kind of Electric type. It is my belief that what ever pokemon hatches form this egg, will do better with you than if it stays here at the ranch. Please look after it sister, and send word when it hatches, for we are all very curious to know what is within.
Love, Your Brother: Fen
Vera sighed and tucked the letter away in her saddle bags. She then contemplated the egg for a time, before deciding that for now the easiest thing to do with it would be to hold it in her arms. "Ok Kamida, I've got the package." As the pidgeot turned around, she attached the bag to onne of his legs "Of you go then, Back to the ranch." Vera nodded her head "May you have good tailwinds and clear skys" Kamada spread his wings and nodded as well ~And you~ With a 'whoosh' the pidgeot was in the air and quickly he was gone form sight.
~Who was that?~ Kael asked. Vera stared at the shiny Riolu for a moment, beofre remebering that Kael would never have met any of the Nikita family pokemon. "That was Kamida. My family use him to deliver the mail to any mebers of the clan who aren't resideing at the ranch" ~Ranch?~ "I'm a Nikita of the Nikita Family ranchers. We've got a huge area of land in Johto, and smaller areas scattered through most of the other regions as well" Vera sounded proud of her family and what they had accomplished. Kael nodded and was silent for a time.

A little egg-like Pokémon was watching all this, wondering whether or not to show herself. She hopped from one clawed foot to the other, little wings fluttering. Should she... or should she not? Finally, when she saw the egg, she decided that she would. The Kinta bounced forwards, hopping into the path of the Arcanine 'morph. She whimpered in fear, screaming at the sight of the scary person, and her daemon and Pokémon. She was only young after all. ~Please don't eat me!~ Kinta sobbed. Oh, this was such a bad idea. Bad, bad, bad. Kinta didn't even know why she'd done such a stupid thing! Honestly, thinking she'd be all right around a huge Arcanine?! Kinta whimpered in fear, shaking. Oh dear. She'd wanted to see the egg, being an egg herself, but she'd judged this so badly. Kinta look like this;

Vera's second set of ears twitched, as she listened to something in the grass near by. Her eyes widened as the pokemon in the bushes bounced into her path. She'd never seen anything like this little creature before.
It's basis seemed similar to that of a Togepi, In that the bulk of its body was hidden within an egg. A bird like head, feathered wings and tail, and two small bird like feet told her that this was most likely a flying type of some kind. It was small, probably the first in a multiple stage evolution line, rather than a single stage pokemon, which in general were fairly large.
Her attention snapped back to the creature itself when it whimpered and sobbed out ~Please don't eat me!~. The whole group blinked at that statement. Vera shifted so her front paws were stretched out, allowing her to get her upper body closer to the little creature. Doing so also brought the egg into view of the little egg/bird pokemon.
"Shhhhh.... It's ok little one" The arcanine morph said softly "I'm not going to eat, or hurt you. I would like to get to know you. I've never seen a pokemon like you before." Kael took several steps forward, his left paw still resting on Vera's leg. The shiny Riolu looked at the small pokemon, his red eyes held a faint look of recognition, which was to be expected, as He was the only member of the group to have been born and raised in Enera, even if He'd not been out in the world for the last 20 years, he still remembered what things were like.
OOC: *Squees quietly* Kinta is sooo Cute.

ooc// Inu made them
ic// Kinta shuddered in delight as the egg was brought into view. Well, the Egg Pokémon liked Eggs. What a surprise. Kinta moved up to the egg, touching it. She felt it's smooth, clean surface. She felt a small jolt of electricity from within, not enough to effect her, however. She grinned. ~It's an Electric type.~ she confirmed. She felt it a little more. No, not all the surface was smooth; a minute crack was running from the top to about a quarter of the way down the egg. She smiled, feeling a little nudge as the developing Pokémon moved. ~And it hasn't got long to hatch!~ her smile widened, if that were possible with a beak. Kinta was happy, happy happy. She looked at Vera, hearing the statement. Vera had never seen a Kinta before? Well, this Kinta was here. She wouldn't be able to say that any more. ~I think our kind are only found here. Lots of trainers haven't seen Enera region Pokémon when they come here.~ she nodded. Then she looked back at the egg, fidgeting a little. ~Erm... can I, like, hang around? Just until your egg hatches, and I promise I won't get in the way!~ Kinta begged.

Vera smiled at the little egg-bird pokemon. "Of course you can stay with us little one." The arcanine morph smiled "You can even stay with us after the egg hatches if you want. Though if you want to stay further than Route One, You'd need a pokeball"
At this point, Kael finally remembered what the name of the little egg-bird was. ~I remeber now. Your a Kinta~ he said.

Kinta took this into account thoughtfully. Yes, that seemed possible. She wasn't entirely sure what Vera was like, however, having only just met her. Perhaps she'd challenge the Arcanine 'morph to a battle to see what she was like, how she treated her Pokémon and so on. She'd also be able to watch the Pokémon in the egg hatch and grow up. So... that option was a maybe. At Kael's remembering of her name, she grinned, pleased. ~Yes, that's my species! Kinta, Kinta, Kinta!~ she twittered happily. She would have gone on, but- Craaa-aaack.A small chuck of shell fell from the egg, followed by a puff of yellow dust as small grains were pushed from the edge of the hole from inside. Kinta did nothing to help, knowing that it was always best for a Pokémon to start out life strong enough to break it's egg. A small head emerged, then a little body followed by some little legs... ~Pi? Pi, Pichu!~ the newborn Pichu cried, reaching for Vera. It thought she was it's mother. However, there was something a little... different. It's ear had little points, three in total. This was a notch-eared Pichu. Vera had set the egg down when the small piece dropped off the bottom, Knowing that it wouldn't be long before what ever was inside made its entrance. The Shiny Arcanine Pokemorph wasn't disappointed, as the egg shook and rocked, and eventually broke away to reveal a tiny pichu.
The woman let out a tiny gasp as she look in the newly hatched pokemon, With its yellow fur, large dark eyes, small limbs and tri-pointed ear. That ear was more than a little odd, But then again, It was some how fitting, That Vera's egg would hatch a Pichu with a notched ear. The 'Morph had heard tales of pokemon born with differences like this, but had never expected to see one, let alone actually have one.
~Pi? Pi, Pichu!~ The little pokemon held its arms out to Vera, apparently having decided that she was its mother. Vera picked the tiny pokemon up, Holding it firmly so it wouldn't fall, but not tightly so that the baby would be comfortable. Green eyes smiled down at the baby pokemon, as it snuggled into the ruff of fur around her neck.
"Are you hungry, my Chiyo?" She asked ~Pi~ The newly named Chiyo nodded. Like all babies, the Pichu would need to be taught how to talk, though Pokemon usually caught on fairly quickly and were talking by their second or third day.
"Kael? There should be a bottle and some formula in my bags. Could you get it out for me?" As the only member of the group to actually have hands, Apart from Vera, who's arms were currently occupied by the baby, The shiny Riolu would have to be the one to make the bottle.
Kael nodded and walked around to Vera's rump. Sifting through the things in various compartments of the saddlebags, He eventually came across a small section with a baby bottle, a packet of dry pokemon formula of the general use variety, and a little bottle of distilled water to make it with. Carefully he pulled them out,a nd set about making the bottle. "You need any help?" Jax had put Shae down, and his cyan eyes were locked on the Riolu. His paw however was pressed on Shae's back, Keeping her in one place so as not to disturb the baby or the little bird. ~I think I know what I'm doing. If you could tell if I do something wrong though....~ Kael responded ~Before my pokeball got lost, I used to watch the people at the lab feeding the baby pokemon~ Kael carefully unscrewed the top of the bottle. He tore a corner off the packet of power using his teeth, and then carefully poured the contents into the bottle. The bottle of water was of the pop-top variety and it was simple for the Riolu to add the water to the mix. Once the baby bottle was full, he screwed the lid back on. Putting the empty mix packet and the water back into the saddle bags, he closed them up and brought the bottle of formula to Vera.
~Here it is Vera. You'll need to shake it to mix the powder in~ Kael looked at his paws ~I didn't want to risk dropping it~ Vera smiled "Thankyou Kael" she took the bottle form him and pinched the top, before shaking vigorously. Once it was all mixed, she settled Chiyo into the crook of her arm and gave her the bottle.
The little pichu drank quickly, and soon her first meal was done. A huge yawn came from the little creatures mouth as she blinked sleepily at Vera and then turned to blink just as sleepily at Kinta and Kael. The shiny Riolu offered Vera a triangle of cloth that he had dug out of her bags, to use as a sling for Chiyo. "Thank you Kael." She handed him the bottle to put back in her bags, while she took the fabric. Carefully She looped it around her neck and shoulder, Similar to the way a sling would be made of an injured arm. She then settled Chiyo into it. The pichu murmured quietly and then curled up and went to sleep.
Vera smiled and Gently patted the sleeping Pichu, before turning her attention back to the other pokemon around her. Jax had picked Shae up again, and the eevee was squeaking indignantly, wanting to see the baby and the little bird. The daemon sighed and moved to stand next to Vera. Shae Wriggled happily when she saw the Kinta, But Jax refused to put her down, in case she scared off the rather timid little bird. Kael ahd put the babies bottle back in Vera's bags, and was now standing with one paw against her front legs. All of them looked at the Kinta, Wondering what she was going to do now.

Kinta bounced high into the air in her excitement through these actions. The baby's first feeding! Oh, joy! Happy day! She watched, a huge expression of joy on her face as she did so. At times she felt like calling out to Vera tips of advice, but she didn't want to get in the way and it would be best if she learned for herself. The Kinta looked at the sleeping Pichu, babbling a list of things. Some were about baby care, but mostly she got side-tracked. She kept babbling. That was, until-
~Well, well, well. You have a child to take care of.~ Kinta's attension was wrenched away from Chiyo to a glossy Glameow who was trotting gacefully towards them, face in the air, expression stating that it was fairly obnoxios. It said down, tail curling around it as it licked at paw. It placed it down again, looking at Vera in an almost bored way. It didn't seem very friendly. You might have to be careful.
The Glameow's tail flicked in a different direction. ~Oh, it's odd. Not as much a freak as it's trainer, of course.~ it sneered, eyeing Vera coldly. It stood to all fours, padding up to Chiyo. It sniffed it. ~Well, it seems... happy. Perhaps this trainer is worthy of a battle against me, I wonder...?~ it requested, sizing up Vera's two Pokémon that hadn't just been hatched.

Vera smiled as the Kinta suddenly entered a Hyper state to rival Shae, the little egg-bird bouncing about and chattering on about a million different subjects. The arcanine morph paid particular attention to the bits about baby care. Most of it she already knew, After 45 years of life, most of it spent on a pokemon ranch, It was kinda hard not to pick up such things. A few things though, were new to her, and Vera mentally filed them away for future reference.
~Well, well, well. You have a child to take care of~ Vera's attention turned to a sleek glossy glameow trotting towards them, a rather obnoxious expression on its face. It sat down in front of them, tail curling around its feet, as it licked one paw, a bored expression settling on its face.
The Glameow's fluffy tail flicked as it spoke once more ~Oh, it's odd. Not as much a freak as it's trainer, of course~ Its voice had a distinct sneer to it,and its eyes were cold. Vera gave a very noticeable twitch, and her whole body seemed to tighten. The comment about her didn't matter, she knew she was different, being a shiny pokemorph with such an unusual melding of Arcanine and human, and had long ago accepted that this was the way things were. But the comment about Chiyo..... The woman was most displeased at the slander against the pichu whom she was already thinking of as her child. Jax began a low growl at the pokemon that had upset his human.
It stood and walked over the Vera, reaching up to sniff at the Pichu asleep in its sling. ~Well, it seems... happy. Perhaps this trainer is worthy of a battle against me, I wonder...?~ It looked at Shae and Kael as if sizing them up. ~Letmefight!Letmefight!Letmefight!~ Shae wriggled and twitched and whined, and eventually Jax let her down, so she could run out and face the Glameow.
~VeraVeraVera! I'mgonnafight!I'mgonnaFight! MakeYouProud! MakeYouProud!MakeYouProud!~ Shae was practically bouncing as she looked at the glameow. Vera just smiled and called out "Alright Shae! Use Tailwhip and then Tackle"
The little Eevee swished her tail at the Glameow, posing cutely, and then Took off, rushing the other pokemon with a full body tackle.

Glameow was unimpressed by Shae's state of hyperactivity. It tutted, nose in the air. ~Well, well, a dancing pet puffball. This should be too easy.~ it said flatly, stretching out, preparing itself for the battle. As it stretched out, it made it very clear that it had it's claws out. It straightened up onto all fours. Pft, by the look of this whimpy fox, this'd be over quickly. It sighed. Oh, this was just not worth fighting. Shae would be defeated, the trainer would be hurt emotionally, and they would all see how wrong they were to think Glameow wasn't strong. Yes, it doubted Shae would even get a single attack in-
Wham. Glameow had been so busy thinking about how bad Vera and Shae were and how good it was, that it hadn't even noticed it's Defense slip and Shae beginning to attack. It'd been struck easily, not putting up any resistance whatsoever. Glameow was in the dirt, but she scowled, hissed and leapt back up again. It snarled, lunging for Shae in a Scratch attack. It looked quite strong, the attack.

Shae whimpered as the Scratch attack hit its mark, three bright red lines appearing on her muzzle as the Glameow's claws raked her. ~Owwie!~ Thinking fast the little fox kicked dirt at the Glameow's face in a sand attack, before rushing it in a second tackle.
As the fight started, Vera carefully pulled out he pokeball that had been included in the note and caught Chiyo properly. The ball didn't even wobble before a 'ting' sound indicated that the notched ear Pichu had been caught. Letting her back out, Vera smiled as all Chiyo did was murmur in her sleep and roll over a bit..... apparently being caught and released hadn't been enough to wake the sleeping baby from her post hatching nap. She then looked over at Kinta "So.... Gonna come with us?" She asked, Calling out instructions to Shae as she waited for a response. On the sidelines Jax and Kael were watching the fight closely, calling out encouragment to Shae as she fought the cat like pokemon.

Glameow hissed as the sand went in her eyes, clawing at the organs madly in attempt to allow herself the sense of sight again. She heard Shae racing towards her in a Tackle, but had no idea when she would hit. The Glameow attempted to dodge, but that didn't do anything and she was struck easily. She finally wiped away some of the sand, enabling her a little more vision. The cat Pokémon, however, didn't attack; she was intent on wipiing away the rest of the sand.
Kinta looked at Vera, thoughtfull. Would she go with the trainer? Would she... hm... that was a tricky question. True, Vera had hatched an egg and Kinta had become attatched to the Pichu and wanted to see it grow up, but she didn't know what Vera was like. She might be a really bad trainer, or mean or nasty really. Kinta wanted Vera to prove herself... well, if she watched the girl in battle she'd see, right? Kinta shrugged in response to the question. ~Possibly later.~ was all she said.

As the Glameow worked on getting more of the sand out of its eyes, Shae wagged her tail in another Tailwhip attack, Hopeing to lower its defense even more and then launched herself in another Tackle attack.
Vera nodded as the Kinta chose to hold off on its decision for a while. quite likely it wanted to see the outcome of this battle beofre it decided weather or not to join them.

Glameow felt the Tail Whip weaken her Defense. Oh, no. That probably indicated another attack, otherwise Shae wouldn't have weakened her. Oh, she just needed a little more force to get this dumb sand out! The cat Pokémon was struck on her side, falling, but luckily, that attack had been just enough to knock out last last annoying bit of sand. The Normal type panted heavily, before her breathing converted to a more controlled, light pant.
Oh, she would get the little Eevee for that! She might have been rid of a Sand Attack, but Shae had damaged her! That was so not happening! Again, she leapt madly at Shae, claws at the ready. This was another one of her Scratch attacks.

Shae whimpered as the claws raked her yet again, the glameow's claws catching her shoulder this time. Being a relatively low level Eevee, Shae didn't have all that many moves at her disposal. So the brown and cream fox was forced to resort to the same moves over and over. While the Glameow was still close, Shae kicked more dirt at its face, Before taking off in a run, Trying to get behind it to use her Tackle attack again.
