Deeper And Deeper

"I don't like the looks of this," Karasu commented with a shiver. Route 1 had ended now, and they had reached Route 2. Thick forests like this were usually pretty deep and they were easy to get lost in.

"You know, Karasu," Mizuki started, still holding Sunkern, "I'm sure I just saw something shiny in there somewhere."

"Shiny?! Well... okay, just promise me we'll get through this forest quickly."

"Don't be a baby. It's not like we're defenseless," she sighed. She had three other Pokeballs with the rest of her team in them. To calm Karasu down, she released them. Vulpix stayed close to Mizuki, keeping a close eye on their surroundings. Drifloon floated beside her, and Sneasel stood on her other side.

Now, they were ready for anything to show up.

Yup, there was defiantly something out there. A fluttering sound could be heard getting nearer and nearer. ~Hello? Brother? Is that you?~ a small pidgey followed those words flying out of the bushes and looking over at Karasu. ~Brother?!~ it flew a small circle around the murkow shaped daemon, inspecting every inch of him. ~Oh, I'm sorry. I thought You were my brother~ If birds could blush the pidgey would have been doing so, embarrassed about having thought the stranger was her brother.

She then looked down and spotted the trainer ~Hey, Wow~ She now inspected the Houndoom morph just as closely as she had inspected the Murkow daemon. Eventually she stopped and hovered in the air about level with Mizuki's face. ~Hey, Your a trainer right?~ she asked ~Would you battle me?~

[Ichigo]

Karasu was a bit surprised when this Pidgey showed up out of nowhere. When she apologized, he just laughed a little. "No problem; there's no need to be embarrassed," he assured. She seemed interested in Mizuki, he noted to himself.

Mizuki barely reacted when this Pidgey asked for a battle. "Alright, but I don't intend to hold back," she decided. "Since Sneasel and Drifloon have already battled, and Sunkern would be at a disadvantage, it's your turn, Vulpix."

"Huh? O-okay," Vulpix answered. This was it; her chance to prove herself. She stepped forwards, ready to fight.

"Don't be nervous; you'll be fine," Mizuki said in her usual stern way. "Start with Ember."

Vulpix nodded and blew a quick blast of fire at Pidgey. It was always good to get in the first hit.

Pidgey chirped happily as the trainer accepted her challenge. She fluttered backwards as Vulpix was called out, allowing for plenty of battle room. ~Oh, this will be so much fun!~ the pidgey was ever so very excited, She didn't get to battle very much, despite her love of the adrenaline rush it gave.

The tiny bird pokemon, whistled sharply as she was hit by the vulpix's ember attack,and retaliated by flapping her wings and launching a sand attack at the red fox.

[Ichigo]

"Yipe!" Vulpix yelped as she got sand in her eyes. She blinked quickly, trying to get it out. In the meantime, her vision was blurred. She'd have difficulty making a direct hit.

"Ember again," Mizuki ordered. Vulpix aimed in what she thought was the general direction of Pidgey and blew more flames. Hopefully, her vision wasn't too bad.

The pidgey did her best to dodge the ember attack that had been sent in her direction, and almost pulled it off, with the attack hitting one wing rather than her whole body. The tiny bird pokemon cried out as she felt another bit of her energy slip away. that Ember attack had been more effective than it looked, with the little pokemon now being affected by a Burn condition.

Pidgey flipped her wings and circled around to the side, before launching a tackle attack at the fox pokemon.

[Ichigo]

"Jump left," Mizuki decided. Vulpix however, forgot which way left was and just jumped anywhere. She took a hit to the side and tumbled over, her tails falling over her face.

"Get up and use Ember again," Mizuki said, offering no time to think. Vulpix, knowing that Mizuki was counting on her, pushed herself up and sent out another Ember. She hoped that it would hit; her vision was still a bit blurry from the sand.

Currently the term blind luck would be considered very appropriate. The ember attack hit the pidgey squarely, the bird crying out in alarm. This vulpix was strong, another one, maybe two attacks like that and she'd be done for. Another, softer cry followed as her burn sapped a bit more life.

Gathering her courage, Pidgey let out what she thought to be a terrifying war cry, but was actually a series was rather cute sounding chirps, and swooped the Vulpix in another tackle.

[Ichigo]

Mizuki wouldn't make the same mistake twice. "Jump up, then Ember straight down," she decided. Vulpix did exactly as she was told. Since Mizuki said "up", there was absolutely no way for her to get the directions mixed up. She then blew a stream of fire straight down on the spot where she had been only seconds ago.

The wild pidgey couldn't change course in time. She missed the Vulpix by inches, and was hit full on by the Ember attack. The pokemon cried out and then fell to the ground in a faint.

Pidgey is now able to be captured!
Vulpix gains Two Levels!

[Ichigo]

"You won! Yay!" Sunkern cheered. Mizuki showed a rare smile. Karasu cheered happily, obviously glad that Vulpix won.

"You did great, kiddo!" he complimented. Vulpix blushed a bit at the praise.

"Thank you," she was sure to say. Mizuki, in the meantime, took out a Pokeball and threw it at the fallen Pidgey. A Flying-type would be a great help in battle.

The Ball rocked once, twice, and then pinged, signalling a successful capture.

Personality: This pidgey is a sweet creature, always trying to look out for those around her. She tends to be quite trusting, a little to much so, and is easily mislead. She enjoys the rush of Battle, and is fairly good at it.

"Excellent capture," Karasu said. Mizuki said nothing as she picked up the Pokeball.

"Not bad for your first battle," Sneasel said, looking at Vulpix out of the corner of her eye.

"Thank you," Vulpix thanked.

[Birdybot]

A Pokémon saw the Pokéball click shut on the Pidgey. So, this trainer had caught a Pidgey, had they? Well, then they had a Flying type! Perhaps they liked Flying types! If they did, perhaps they had more Flying types! In that case, it had a good chance of winning, haha! After all, it had a type advantage over Flying types. It toddled out, grinning and looking determined.

~Shinx!~[/color] he called as loudly as he could, trying to attract Mizuki's attention. This could be translated as a simple, 'hey, you', but it was fairly clear as to what exactly the little cub Pokémon was trying to get across to the girl. He then growled, wanting to fight.[/size]

[Ichigo]

Mizuki barely reacted as she noticed the Shinx. Looked like another battle for her. Gently, she set Sunkern on the ground. "Looks like it's your turn. Do your best," she said softly. Karasu noted that she seemed to have developed a soft spot for Sunkern.

"Okay!" Sunkern agreed, facing her opponent. This would be her first battle; she couldn't let mommy down!

"Alright; start with Mega Drain," she ordered. Sunkern nodded, the glowing green vines prepared to ensnare her opponent.
