Double Kick was an attack which hit multiple times, rather than just the usual once. This attack only hit twice. The first blow caught Sentret off-balance, winded, and the second was the final he would ever feel from this perticular battle. So much for the ultra-powerful, then! If Abby wanted, she would be able to catch it. If she didn't, she could leave it be.
Skitty blinked, rather surprised. This trainer had defeated a Sentret. But why? Sentret had been going to beat him, not her. Why would she safe him? He wasn't worth saving. Then an expression of shock and realization crossed over his face. He looked at Abby in disbelief, remembering what she'd said earlier. She'd said that he just had to find someone who cares. He'd thought that no-one in the world had. But now... it looked like he'd found that one person who did. ~You said I should find someone who thinks I matter. I-I think I've found this person. Might I, erm, perhaps go along with you? Please?~ he asked.

Without a word (per usual), Abby removed a single Pokeball from her bag. She looked over at Skitty and smiled. That Sentret was just a big bully; she didn't want a Pokemon like that around. What really surprised Arthur was what she did next.
"Yes..." she rasped. Her own voice sounded so foreign to her. It made sense; she hadn't used it in years.
"Abby, you finally spoke! It's a miracle!" Arthur cheered. Her smile became even broader now. Sundancer watched from a distance. She risked so much to protect this little Skitty... now she knew for sure that Abby was a good person.

Skitty's jaw dropped as he heard Abby talk. It might have been a single word, but she had spoken. When was it her daemon had said she had last spoken? When she was, like, six? Well, this was amazing. As if something about this day had finally convinced her she had a purpose. Her voice sounded odd and barely audible, but that was probably because she hadn't kept it in use. She wouldn't have much memory of how to speak.
Well, Skitty could never leave this girl now! He placed a paw on the Pokéball without another thought, and was swept inside, where the Pokéball barely so much as twiched while he remained still inside before it pinged, announcing his capture.
Abby caught a Skitty!
Name: Species: Skitty Gender: Male Level: 6 Ability: Cute Charm Attacks: Growl, Tail Whip, Tackle, Fake-Out, Foresight Personality: This Skitty used to think he was worthless, but now he's met Abby, he feels differently, although still not quite pleased at himself. -add more-

Abby picked up the Pokeball slowly. She knew that she'd have to take good care of this Skitty. Well, that wasn't a problem. She planned to take good care of all of her Pokemon. That was the best way to train them.
Arthur smiled from his perch. It took a long time, but she finally spoke. Maybe she'd start speaking more often. Or maybe that was just a one time thing. He didn't know, but he didn't care. He was just happy that she said something.
"Any ideas for a name?" he asked her.
She answered him in the usual way; through thoughts. "I have one; Moon."

ooc// Man, majorly sorry this hasn't been replied to, I mistook it for something Red was modding and after that I just wasn't seeing it!
ic// It seemed as if all was still on Route One once more, at least in this part. However, as you walked further along the route, there was bound to be lots more wild Pokémon to fight and catch. After all, otherwise, that distant moving speck wouldn't be there, would it? And a moving speck was most likely a Pokémon, right?
No, it seemed not. As Abby grew closer, it seemed the figure was like a human. However, what was with their arms? And they were moving in an odd way, too! It turned, saw Abby, and walked towards her. Ah, it wasn't a human, after all. Just a very rare human-like Pokémon. A Scyther, to be exact. Scyther growled at the girl, slashing it's scythes at her. It wanted a battle, for sure.

"I don't think Sunny can handle another battle just yet. Do you think I should let our new partner have a turn?" Abby asked.
"It's your choice, not mine," Arthur answered again.
"Alright then." She took out the Pokeball and released Moon.
"Okay Moon, begin with Fake-Out!" Fake-Out was more effective if it hit first; Abby knew that. Moon charged forwards, too fast to be seen, aiming right at the Scyther.

Scyther watched as the trainer released 'Moon', who turned out to be a Skitty. Ha, a Skitty. Scyther felt like laughing. A Skitty was pretty small in comparison to a Scyther, so to it's reckoning, Scyther should be the winner. The Pokémon was hit by the Fake-Out, for it was too fast to be dodged. Scyther growled in annoyance. Moon was stronger than it had expected, but it would still fight. After all, if it simply gave up, there was no hope of victory.
Scyther then prepared it's own attack. This species were well known for their high Speed, and rightfully so. Scyther zipped towards Moon as a blur, using a rather strong looking Quick attack.

Moon winced in pain as he was hit by the blindingly fast bug Pokemon. Maybe he just wasn't ready to do this... No, he had to believe that he could do it.
The next order came. "Use Tackle!" Moon ran at his opponent, ready to hit with all he had.

Scyther didn't manage to dodge the Tackle in time; it was too busy preparing it's next attack. As Moon struck it, the Bug type gave a grunt of pain and gritted it's teeth. Ouch. That had hurt a little too much for it's liking. The Skitty was stronger than he looked. Scyther, however, was now prepared and ready to use it's attacks.
Scyther slashed it's scythe. The actual slash wasn't the attack, it was the wave which came from it as a result. This was a Vacuum Wave, a Fighting type attack- Fighting type attacks were super effective against Normal types, something which could worry Moon.

"This is bad... Dodge, quickly!" What an interesting attack... If Abby recalled correctly, Scyther was one of two Pokemon that could learn that attack naturally. This was interesting... catching it would be great!
Moon, meanwhile, took advantage of his small size to slip out of the way. That was close; he could feel it slightly brush his face. If he got hit with that, it'd be trouble.
"Quick; Tackle again!"

Scyther knew it would have been able to dodge had it not just used that Vacuum Wave attack. It was still recovering, and so was not able to move out the way in time. The Skitty rammed into it, hard. Scyther felt the wind woosh from its lungs with the force of it. Yowch. A critical hit. Looks like Moon was so far prooving to be a useful team member!
Scyther, of course, could not merely stand by without retaliating. The tall Bug type used a move not unlike Tackle, but it was faster, more like an advanced version of it. The Pokémon was using another Quick Attack.

Another direct Quick Attack knocked the Skitty back. Bracing himself, he got back up. He had to keep going, no matter what.
Abby winced when he got hit; she had to do something quick! The next order came quickly. "One more time, Tackle!"

Scyther watched the Tackle come towards it. Compared to how fast it could move, the Tackle was slow. However, as the Bug type went to move, it found that it was still recovering from using the Quick Attack. Presently tired, using such an energetic move meant it had to catch its breath. It eventually managed to move, but it was much too late; the Tackle struck.
Scyther had learned that it was best not to use physically demanding attacks right now, and so sent more waves at the Skitty; another Vacuum Wave.

"Dodge!" came the warning. Moon ducked again, but it grazed his tail. Wincing from the pain, he turned on his opponent again.
"Use Tackle, one more time!" Moon charged at the enemy once again, full force.

Scyther was panting heavily, watching Moon come swiftly closer in a Tackle attack. That was not a very good thing. This Tackle attack looked fast, strong, with a lot of effort put behind it. Scyther knew that if it struck, it would surely be defeated. This would not be the best of things to happen, so Scyther would dodge. Moving quickly to one side as the Skitty was about to hit, Scyther could feel wind blow in its face as Moon rushed past. It was safe; the attack had been a miss.
Scyther sighed in relief. It would not be fainting on this turn, hooray! The Bug type turned to Moon, using a Vacuum Wave. This attack, due to Scyther's present weak state, was not too strong but still accurate.
