Damien grinned as Phoenix struck the Oddish with the Scratch attack. Now was the time to press the attack. "All right Phoenix time to press the attack. Stay in close range, unleash a Scratch attack!" ordered Damien. Phoenix nodded and prepared to attack the Oddish. Meanwhile, Jet and Drago, who was watching the battle with interest, were on the sidelines. Jet was taking notes on what Damien was doing wrong and right.

Oddish gritted her teeth as her eyes squeezed shut in effort to try and bace herself. She could see that, although giving her more energy to last longer, her Absorb attacks did half the damage on Phoenix than they did on any other Pokémon due to type weaknesses. She used Absorb all the while when Phoenix was racing up towards her, feeling a little more strength return to her. But, she was still a little Oddish, and it wasn't enough. The Scratch attack sent her flying through the air, where she landed awkwardly on the ground.Oddish fainted! Phoenix gains two levels! Oddish is now catchable!

Damien grinned as Phoenix Scratched the Oddish. Then when it fainted, Damien was surprised. 'I thought that it would have had some more fight in it than that. Ah well who am I to complain?[/color]' thought Damien as he took out Phoenix's Pokeball. Aiming it at Phoenix, he said, "Great job Phoenix. Seriously, good job. Take a nice rest." He then returned Phoenix to his Pokeball and put it away. Taking an empty Pokeball out, Damien threw it a the fainted Oddish.

At first, the Pokéball shook fairly violently, as though Oddish had only barely been defeated. Then, it slowly began to calm down, until it pinged as the shaking stopped altogether, indicated that the round blue leafy Pokémon had been caught inside the spherical red and white device of capturing. Hooray, this was successfull!

Damien grinned as he successfully caught the Oddish. Now they could continue on with their journey. Picking up the Oddish's Pokeball, Damien said, "I think that I'll call you Leaf." Hearing this, Jet said sarcastically, "That's the best you could come up with? Why not just call her Grass?" Looking at Jet, Damien said, "Fine. I'll name her Sunshine. Now lets keep walking." As Damien said this, he pocketed Sunshine's Pokeball. Jet nodded and followed Damien with Drago at their side. The trio continued to walk down the path.

Two Pokémon had already been encountered, which is fairly good going for any Route. Since Oddish had been directly before Route Two, Damien moved on to the next Route befor any Pokémon would have even been able to think about attacking him.
You may now make a thread in Route Two.
