The ball shook violently, as if the Whismur was throwing a temper tantrum inside the ball. However it didn't seem to be doing much good. The ball stopped shaking after only a few seconds and gace a soft ping

Hawk grinned as he walked over and picked up the Pokeball. Grinning, he held it in the air.

"Heck yeah! We caught a Whismur!" He said with a happy grin, Ace chirping happily as Salia blinked.

"... I hope you won't do that every time you catch something..." The daemon muttered, her body shuddering at the thought.

"He won't. Now, Hawk, what are you going to call Whismur?" Ace asked, now on his favourite shoulder perch.

"Well, did you catch it's gender?" The Pokemorph asked.

"It was a guy, I think." The Pidgey replied.

"Alright, then this Whismur is now dubbed Roary!" Hawk excalimed, causing his daemon to sigh.

"I wonder why. Anyway, we should take a break." Salia suggested, to which the other two agreed. The trio found a clear place and sat down, hoping to get a quick breather.

The problem with resting in a pokemon dominant area is the number of pokemon watching every move especially the ones in the trees. A rustle came from a nearby tree, one that had been annoyed by the battle earlier, and wanted to find the cause of that racket. Eyes peered over the branches as the form prepared to strike at the Pidgey it blamed for the noises.

[Katana]

"Ace, you need me to heal you? You seem a bit beat up." Hawk said conversationally, looking at his starter from the corner of his vision. The Pidgey was obviously tired, that much was certain.

"I'm good, don't worry. How about Roary?" Ace asked.

"He's fainted, so I'm not sure if he could fight even if I used a Potion on him." Hawk replied, not noticing the form in the tree.

A cry came from the pokemon in the tree, and it leaped over Aces head, swinging at Ace, though it missed. The Mankey snarled and got ready to attack again, A birdman and his bird pokemon had disturbed his nap, and now he would get them back.

[Katana]

"What the-!" Hawk jumped from the sudden attack, both Salia and himself standing back and observing the Mankey. "Ace, looks like our break has been interupted. You up to this?"

"Of course! What I'd like to know is what we did to annoy this thing!" Ace shouted, glaring at the Mankey as he flew to the ground.

"Well, it doesn't seem willing to talk, so use Air Slash to start with!" Hawk ordered, watching Ace form and launch the familiar air blade at the Mankey.

Mankey got hit by the Air Slash. That hurt. "First you interrupt my nap, now you don't go away at my warning, instead you attack me?" He demanded "I'm removing you from my home the hard way then." He gave a look that would cut through steel, a Leer attack designed to lower defense. Then he charged with a Scratch attack.

[Katana]

"Nap, we didn't inter- oh. Wait. You mean you got woken up by the battle?" Hawk asked, blinking.

"Less talk, more fight!" Ace said, before seeing the Leer and cringing. That left him open for the Scratch, which was in itself more powerful due to the Leer. The Pidgey flew back, getting up slowly a minute later.

"Mankey! We didn't wake you up, Whismur's Uproar did!" Hawk was worried about Ace. The Pidgey was still wounded from his earlier fight with Roary, so the Pokemorph had good reason to worry. "So can we please just stop and call this one big misunderstanding?"

Mankey stopped for a moment, considering what the Bird-man was saying, maybe he could find out what happened before beating the Pidgey up, Mankey wasn't too fond of birds as they constantly tweeted in his tree. Obviously this Mankey wasn't much for being disturbed by anything. But it would be no fun to beat up a bird that was on the ground, he needed a challenge.

"You aggravated the Whismur" The Mankey insisted, "And now you have caught him, so he is your responsibility, so it's your fault." This was a truly stubborn Mankey, he saw black and white, there was absolutely no grey.

"Ah, but we didn't start the battle. The Whismur wanted to fight, none of us realised you were sleeping at the time. We're sorry about waking you up anyway." Hawk said quickly, hoping to diffuse the situation. Salia, meanwhile, had shifted into a Blaziken form, watching the situation quietly. Inwardly, she was afraid, not seeing a good outcome if a fight broke out.

Ace, meanwhile, was still ready to fight, if a bit beaten up.

Mankey thought about this, yes, the bird-man was right, it wasn't their fault. "I am sorry" He said bowing a bit "Now that I have offended you I offer this deal, either I leave and do not bother you more, or I continue this battle with the Pidgey and should you win I'll join your team, either way will allow me to nap." He decided finally.

"Hm... hold on. Ace, come here please." Hawk said, his starter plodding over. The Pokemorph pulled out a Potion and sprayed Ace, the healing effect healing a fair few of the Pidgey's wounds. Some were obviously still there. "You wanna continue?"

"Yeah. The fight seems about even now, so I'll keep going." Ace turned back and approached the Mankey.

"Okay, then let's start. Ace, Sand Attack... but wait 'til Mankey is ready." Hawk ordered. Considering this was a Mankey, known for their temper, the Pokemorph was pleasantly surprised at the rationality it showed. Heck, it was even angry and still realised the error.

"Well, this should be fun." Salia said, looking to the battlers with interest. The daemon had to get her kicks somehow.

Mankey did not wait for Ace to make the first move, he seemed to focus and be ready to attack. Focus energy truly helps things. He avoided the Sand Attack barely, but sand on his legs did nothing to stop him. He lunged forward with a scratch, hopefully he would hit his target.

"Dodge! Then use Air Slash again!" Hawk ordered.

Ace flew up and above Mankey, pulling a quick 180 turn so he faced the monkey Pokemon. He launched the air slice while still flying, hoping that it would hit Mankey. If the move just caused him to flinch, then Ace might be able to get in close. The Pidgey got ready just in case the move missed, however.

The Air Slash hit Mankey directly, ooh that hurt, stupid Pidgey. It gave another gaze that could kill, another Leer to lower defense, it wouldn't be able to do much otherwise, it was getting pretty tired after 2 flying type attacks. It lunged again with a scratch, this one had additional power due to Focus Energy which brought an increased Critical Hit chance.
