Sulteron was not the happiest of Espeon Pokemorphs at the moment.
The Pokemon of day, light, warmth... yet everything here was far from it. The forest that made up the majority of Route Two was shaded in the cold, dark spookyness of night. Sulteron was tired, her tail dragging along the ground, her ears drooping.
On the other hand, Tayeko was happy. The shiny Absol was prancing ahead happily, a silly grin on his red face. Nights were lovely, in his opinion. Denkou the shiny Shinx was as happy as she was during the day. Sulteron's other four Pokemon, a Tigrily, Flarepup, Beavern and Venonat, had grown weary a while ago and had retreated into their Pokeballs.
~Cheer up, Sulteron, the night is wonderful!~ Tayeko grinned, tail wagging. Sulteron sighed tiredly, sitting down on a rock. "I know you're enjoying this and all, Tayeko, but I'm beat. How about we stop for the night, then continue tomorrow?" she asked.
~What? But... we might run into a Dark or Psychic type you like!~ Tayeko answered, searching for every excuse to remain awake and walking.
"I know, I know. I just gotta have some sleep. I know you do, too. Tell you what, you can stay outside if you want. Just don't stray too far, or you'll get hurt, and be sure to go to sleep, otherwise we'll have trouble tomorrow," Sulteron said, pitching the tent quickly with telekenisis. That made her even more tired, but at least it was done quickly. She and Denkou crawled inside, she rolled out a sleeping bag for herself and took out some blankets for Tayeko and Denkou, then rested inside the wamth of the sleeping bag. This was great...
Tayeko watched his trainer and Denkou fall asleep, then lay down in between blankets. He was glad he could sleep outside, and admittedly he was a little tired, but he would have enjoyed running through the night. Oh, well. It wasn't so bad. Maybe they would see a nocturnal Pokemon. Maybe... the pink wolf yawned, streched, and closed his eyes, leaving himself unaware of the outside world and any wild Pokemon in it. It was still night, so he slept on.

Bright round red eyes glowed brightly between tree branches. they observed the travelers until they drifted off into the beautiful and peaceful night. There was an Absol, well that couldn't be to good against his chances. But they were both asleep, maybe he could attack in the night! The HootHoot waited anxiously for a half hour. That was the average amount for someone to fall deeply asleep. After that time came and went, the HootHoot glided swiftly out of the tree. His red eyes gleaming in the moonlight that he passed and swooped down, using Tackle. The battle was on!

Tayeko's tail twiched as Hoothoot approached him, as though he knew the owl Pokemon was there. He was, of course, sound asleep. When the Flying type collided with him, therefore, he was in somewhat of a shock when he found himself woken up to a warm, feathered body thudding into his luxurious pink fur. He cried out in surprise, then, not taking his eyes of the Hoothoot, he opened the door of the tent with one paw.
~Sulteron, Denkou, wake up! There's a wild Pokemon attacking me!~ called him urgent voice. Denkou was on her feet immediately, growling and somehow full of energy as she half dragged her trainer to face the Pokemon.
Sulteron rubbed her eyes groggily, then jerked herself awake when she saw that there was a Hoothoot looking as though it was battling Tayeko. Denkou stood in front of the Absol protectively, as though she wanted to battle in his place. Sulteron shrugged. She might as well. If the Shinx wanted to battle, the Shinx could battle. "All right, then, Denkou! Use Tackle!" she called. Denkou grinned, then ran as fast as she could toward the rotund bird, readying her strong legs to leap if need be.

Hoothoot watched with glowing red eyes of the commotion and he was so fed up with wondering what was going on, that he forgot to attack. Then the Shinx called, "Denkou" came to battle. Then the Tackle somehow came next. It was all coming so fast, regardless, the Hoothoot flew up in the air, though was still hit. As it was ready for the leap to attack. It stroked itself once and then fluttered down to the ground again. Then coming to fight back with Tackle. For that was the only offensive move he knew. His red eyes were blinding red. It was almost amazing in the night. The white moon making a spotlight nearby on the fresh grass that smelled somewhat like maple syrup.

((By the way, my calculations are wrong, but this is fantasy, so yeah.)) Denkou smiled as Hoothoot came closer. If her calculations were correct, which of course they always were, by using Pythagora's theorem to work out the missing side of the right angle triangle when Hoohoot hit... she would be knocked into the air at a 40 degree angle, enough to land her in that tree. Either Hoothoot was very lucky, or very smart. Well, the Shinx would not have that. She darted out the way, away from the tree. She concentrated hard as Hoothoot dipped it's wing to turn over the moonwashed grass, gliding as silent as death itself, before it struck down so hard and so suddenly. Well, that would not happen this time.
Denkou muttered some numbers under her breath, then rolled to one side, before suddenly uncurling and hurling herself into the air. She hadn't expected it to work, but she had indeed ended up on the back of the startled round owl Pokémon. She tried to cling on and keep her breathing steady.
Sulteron was frantically trying to wake Jizu up, where the Eevee daemon was yawning, eyes half closed, on her shoulder; half her concentration would be lost with him. Eventually he became vaguely awake, adapting to his Umbreon form to be nocturnal. He streched, then smiled. Sulteron was now wide awake, although tired, and cried, "Try to drive him to the ground!"
Denkou nodded, then tilted forward so her body weight was more concentrated. She leaned forwards so the strain on the bird would be taken by the upper back. Not the neck, for she was not heartless enough to kill him, but enough to make him fall from the sky with extra weight. She flattened herself against his body and pushed as hard as she could with her front paws against his wings, trying to stop them beating. It would hurt her, of course, but Hoothoot would take the most damage. After all, she would land on feathers, he on the ground.

The Hoothoot squealed in rage as it was sent launched into the air and into the grass. Coincidentally right on the spotlight the silent moon was making. Its sharp eyes glowed red petrifying as it used Foresight. To examine the foe's appearance more clearly through the night to tell what the pokemon was able to do and not do. Yet the ideas of Denkou was not confirmed, he had his predictions. The wind rustled occasionally and flashes of light filled the sky. Then, it started pouring rain. Fast and hard. What could these weird weather changes mean? Who or what was causing them. Between short seconds of silence, you could hear shouting. Something like "El......u....thu.....dbo.....t" or "Wai.......use.....Bubbl.....Be.."
After examining the Shinx completely, Hoothoot fluttered back into the air. With a smirk, with the predictions he made, he was able to quickly think up his next plan. He waited with a devious grin for Sulteron to command Denkou with an attack. Its red eyes continued to glow menacingly. Making a faint red light on his opponents. It was almost creepy, it was like you were standing near a flying traffic light.

Sulteron heard the distant murmer of shouting. 'El......u....thu.....dbo.....t' and 'Wai.......use.....Bubbl.....Be..'? That sounded like 'Elekid use Thunderbolt' and 'Wailmer use Bubble'! There must be a battle going on nearby! Perhaps she would check it out after this battle with Hoothoot. Then again, she could also just go back to sleep again; if they'd managed to find a Wailmer, then they must be pretty good. Well, she should tackle things one at a time. With Hoothoot able to predict Denkou's next attack, her best chance would be to use Telepathy. +Denkou? It's Sulteron, don't be scared. I'm only doing this because Hoothoot might predict our attack otherwise. Tackle.+ she thought to the golden Shinx, although she realised that anyone would be able to guess that attack, for it was the only offensive one Denkou knew. Well, it was better to try and fail than to not try at all.
Denkou winked back at her, the padded over to the tree Hoothoot was beside. She sat down and looked directly up at the bird, careful to avoid eye contact with those mysterious orbs. Then, without warning, although Hoothoot's foresight probably predicted it, she leapt up as high as she could in a Tackle.

[Man, I thought you wouldn't know what the voices were saying. You were almost completely right!]
The Hoothoot was as expected, able to predict the attack, and lowered itself slightly then rose back up to where it was, watching the Shinx go away from him again with those same red glowing eyes. A flash of light came again and a bolt of lightning shot right in front of Sulteron. That was close, Hoothoot would've scavenged off of Sulteron Fries. Then, the area they were in flooded and water spilled through the trees. Some being absorbed into the grass and tree bark, some still remaining as it swarmed around. Nevertheless, Hoothoot darted after Denkou with Tackle.

ooc// Wow, that was just a guess. And lol, people-chips. Yes, we call french fries 'chips', and a bunch of other stuff differently as well, so if you see something strange don't worry.
ic// It was all Sulteron could do to stop herself from screaming as the lightning bolt landed inches away from her face, sizzling a few hairs. She gasped, then swallowed, panting in shock. Jizu moaned softly, becoming an Eevee and rubbing his face into her arm in an attempt to comfort her. She rubbed behind his ears, breathing becoming more even. She noticed Tayeko was standing in front of her protectively, snarling and growling in warning. She blinked- the shiny Absol was being very friendly for once. She liked that.
Denkou was so stunned by the lightning and water, her attention was on the trees, trying work out what on Enera could have caused it. Legendaries? No, they wouldn't fight... would they? Maybe it was just a trainer's attack that went wrong. Yes, that. No-one would hurt them on purpose, right? A chill ran down her spine, then that chill gave way to a small owl Pokémon. The Hoothoot sent Denkou backward, were she landed sprawling on the ground. She didn't wait for Sulteron's command; the Shinx charged into an angry and determined Tackle.

As the Shinx ran after him in attempt to use Tackle, The Hoothoot dove down planning to pick up the Shinx with his talons and drop Denkou at a high altitude. Then use Tackle. He swooped down, grasped his talons around Denkou's ears and lifted up. But the Tackle still contained an impacted which caused the talons to release Denkou and leave him tumbling backward. He stood up, and flew as fast as he could with Tackle. Just barely off the ground.

Denkou shook herself as she stood up. A little strange behavior for a Hoothoot. Probably attempting to drop her from a high altitude. She rubbed her stinging ears with a paw, then faced Hoothoot. A Tackle. Very predictable; she assumed that was the only offensive attack he knew. Then again, it would be obvious what she would use; Tackle was her only offensive move, too.
Sulteron thought up a decent sounding plan. She based it off the game humans played, where they all leaned out and span in a circle, then one let go. Utter disaster. But fun. She would hope the same thing would happen with her attack. "Denkou, meet the Tackle in your own Tackle! Then try and make Hoothoot pushed hard enough in the direction of that tree and jump over his head!" she grinned.
Denkou raised an eyebrow. Or, she would have done, had she had them. That wasn't a bad idea... Hoothoot would keep Tackling and run into said tree, if all went well. She darted forward, clashing painfully with the rotund owl before pushing forward as hard as she could. Not to make Hoothoot loose ground, but just enough to get him pushing at his hardest. Then she gave him and extra push for good measure, and leapt lightly over his head, turning to see the outcome as soon as her paws hit the ground.

The Hoothoot knew how the plan was going to work but he wasn't sure how he could prevent it form doing him damage. for eevrything hapened to fast. He pushed hard, running the Shinx backward a few steps before it leaped over him. He was dashed at top speed at a tree trunk! He tried to slam the brakes by digging his talons into the ground but they just made scrapes. It onyl slowed him down a little bit, he crashed into a tree but remarkably, he got back up. Though he finally got tired and weak. He fluttered unsteadily high into the air and used Foresight again to examine his opponent.

Denkou looked directly at Hoothoot as he used Forsight. What did she care, anyway? Ooooh, he identified her. Big deal. She didn't need Forsight to know what Sulteron would tell her to use. Tackle. Maybe combined with Growl. Hoothoot's attack finished, and Denkou mocked a yawn, just to annoy him.
Sulteron sighed. Must Pokémon always hold petty grudges against the ones they battle? It was silly and childish. Well, she wasn't a Pokémon (fully) so she wasn't really one to talk. She should just battle and let Hoothoot and Denkou work this out themselves. "Tackle, Denkou! Use the rocks to help you get up there!" she called.
Denkou smiled. The female shiny Shinx pushed off extra hard from the ground, leaping towards a rock, then a higher one, then a branch and a trunk of a tree... the Pokémon made her way swiftly towards the tired owl Pokémon, her breathing heavier than she would have liked.

Wishing that he knew Psybeam, the Hoothoot just lowered himself not sure what Denkou was going to next. Though he thought that Denkou was sailing over him. Just to make sure, he lazily fluttered in a circle using Tackle. So if he was attacked, the Shinx would hopefully take some damage. Though the move was lazy after all. (If the events did not occurr)
The Hoothoot glided after the Shinx with Tackle. His eyes weary so it was more like he was trying to attack a small blob.

Denkou, now back on the ground she knew better than air, could see Hoothoot, weak and tired out, chasing after her in a Tackle. She ran a little faster, out pacing him as she sprinted her way around.
Sulteron watched as the events occurred, more than the battle going on in her mind. Where had the lightning and water come from? And the shouts? Were they linked? Would Denkou be strong enough to investigate it after the battle, or would she need to return to her Pokéball until they reached a Pokémon Centre? Jizu tapped her face with a soft brown Eevee-paw, returning her to the present world. ~Rise and shine, daydreamer! We've got a battle to worry about, remember?~ he reminded her, smiling. Sulteron nodded. "Denkou, counter his Tackle with your own!" she called.
Denkou wipped around as Hoothoot came nearer, leaping into the air to collide with him in Tackle attacks... with this, they would both be hurt.
