So, this was it. Alexander couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that he was now just starting his journey. He was now just starting out, on something that he at one time knew he would never do. Alexander wondered if others had gone through this. Had now found themselves at this irony, that they ended up in a place where they never thought they'd be, and actually enjoying the process. Alexander glanced up at the trees that casted the shadows around them. Every day they seemed to be getting just a little more burnt. Alexander liked fall, epically when all the trees glowed in the red color that he so throughly enjoyed. "Alex," he heard Masquerade grown, pecking gently at his arm, "don't you think someone else would enjoy this sight?"
At first, Alexander simply blinked at his Skarmory Daemon, Masquerade. The Skarmory simply looked back at him with her starling yellow eyes, and he met them with his hazel ones. The Skarmory shuffled its wings, and then said, quite sharply, "Thistle-the Sneasel? Have you already forgotten about her? I told you this wasn't a-" "Its a fine choice, Mask. Do not say otherwise. I know well that this will be a nice clean start, don't tell me that it is the wrong one, and how would you know, anyway? I don't see you with a Pokeball."
The Skarmory simply growled, and turned her head away from Alexander, as if ignoring him. Sighing, Alexander took out Thistle's Pokeball, and it opened, summoning the red light that turned into the shape of the Sneasel. The Sneasel stood there, sharpening her claws, before she looked around her, noticing the trees. She then turned back and looked at Alexander, and nodded, as if in thanks for letting her out. "He almost forgot about you, but he won't admit it." Masquerade said, quietly, causing a cold glare from Alexander. Thistle however seemed to ignore the comment, and as they continued on down Route One, the Sneasel continued to sharpen her claws, as she took in the view of the trees that would be soon be glowing with color.

Up ahead, the trees grew thicker, closer together. They were beautiful shades of red, brown, and orange. Mostly a green tinted with orange, or tipped or occasionally entirely orange. Many of them had already fallen, leaving the ground covered in a carpet of leaves. It was all very pretty. A perfect scene of autumn which really described the season well. Many artists would be fairly crazy about painting this... perhaps you'd see one around here somewhere?
For some reason, however, there was an area where very few leaves were scattered about the ground. It seemed as though something had brushed them aside with a long tail. What could it be? The missing leaves were piled up, resting against the gnarled bark of an old oak tree. The pile of leaves rustled. Something was in them! A purple face emerged. It seemed that a Pokémon was eating some leaves it had gathered. The Pokémon looked at Alexander.
It was an Ekans. Hang on... don't Ekans usually eat meat, not plant matter? The snake slithered quickly over to the trainer, toungue flicking out. Mask, his daemon, would be able to translate Ekan's words. ~Hello, trainer. You're probably wondering why I wasssss eating leavesssss, and why I'm not furioussssly attacking you. I am a vegetarian. I think that thingssssss desssserve a chance to live. Although, I do sssssstill enjoy a good fight. Would you pleasssse battle me?~ it hissed.

Thistle was the first to notice the weird parting of the leaves, and probably would have attacked it on the spot had not Masquerade met her with the fierce yellow eyes. Thistle simply saw it as a threat, and by not knowing what it was, simply wanted to figure it out. Thistle stood by Alexander when the Ekans appeared.
~Hello, trainer. You're probably wondering why I wasssss eating leavesssss, and why I'm not furioussssly attacking you. I am a vegetarian. I think that thingssssss desssserve a chance to live. Although, I do sssssstill enjoy a good fight. Would you pleasssse battle me?~
Masquerade translated what the Ekans said, and that brought up a smirk on Alexander's face. He became rather violent when battling, something he could not really control, and he asked Thistle, "well, shall we?" Thistle replied by quickly rubbing one of her claws over the other, creating a screeching sound that also produced small sparks to land on the ground. "~We shall~" Masquerade ruffled her wings, and chuckled, "that would be a yes, Alex."
Alexander chuckled, "Well then, in that case-we will battle you, Ekans." Alexander turned to Thistle, who seemed ready to attack the Ekans as soon as possible, "Thistle-use Scratch!" At once, the agile Sneasel took off, her claws sharpened and ready to win her first battle.

Ekans watched the Sneasel come for it. Hm... this Thistle was fast. It's toungue flicked out as it tasted the air. Fast and determined, always a good sign. A promising Pokémon living up to potential willingly is always a sign of a good trainer, Ekans felt. It had a plan on how to deliver it's first attack. However, it could be risky, it knew. Plenty could go wrong. But it was all it had, and it had thought on it's feet, after all. The snake hissed, allowing Thistle to get rather close. It felt racking claws drag along it's sides, and it groaned in agony.
However, Ekans seemed surprisingly fast for a Pokémon with no legs. The accuracy of it's attack was good, too. The Poison type's tail shot out, curling around the Sneasel the moment it felt the pain, and it began to tighten as quick as Alexander could blink. This was Wrap, a reasonably weak attack, but had Ekans caught Thistle?

Thistle smirked, knowing that her attack had hit. However, she had misjudged her opponent, as did Alexander. Within seconds the attack, warp, had worked, and the Ekans had now curled around Thistle, who seemed to only be annoyed at the fact she had not expected it. Alexander, however, saw this slightly differently. He did not see it as his Pokemon being in the confines of wrap, he saw it as simply a hindrance he should have expected.
"Now, Thistle-use bite!" With Thistle wrapped by the Ekans, the move was very close ranged. Alexander watched the battle as if trying to calculate what was going to happen, and how to react. Masquerade stood next to him, totally engrossed in the battle as well, and unable to offer any advice to him.

Ekans saw Thistle move down for a Bite, and made haste to release the Sneasel so it could flee. However, Thistle was much too fast a Pokémon. Sharp toothed, powerful jaws clamped down on Ekan's thick, rough dry hide, making the snake cry out in pain. The snake's angry yellow eyes stared at the Ice type weasel. It had to think of something to do. Fast; this pain was painful. Obviously.
Ekans' toungue flicked out, it's head twisting around to point at Thistle. Thank goodness it was a snake, therefore very flexable. The Poison type's mouth opened very slightly, and shot a glistening purple pin at Thistle. It wasn't likely to miss, what with the Sneasel being so close. It was a Poison Sting.

Thistle's ears flicked when she heard the Ekans cry out in pain, and she almost let go of the bite, only to remember that Alexander had not told her otherwise. She held the bite, and she watched out of the corner of her eyes as the Ekans went to unleash the Poison Sting. Thistle's eyes widened, and she desperately awaited her trainer's moves.
"Withstand it, Thistle! Then use Ice Punch!" The Poison Sting hit, and Thistle braced the impact. It had hit her right shoulder, and it stung, but it was lucky enough not to have caused her to be poisoned. Immediately after the Poison Sting hit, the Sneasel let go of her bite and went to use Ice Punch with her left hand, allowing her right arm to recover from the poison sting.
Alexander tensed when the Poison Sting had his Thistle, 'don't be poisoned,' he thought desperately, 'and if it is-she'll have to fight through it!' Even though Alexander had an Antidote on hand, he did not choose to even think about using it. Thistle would get through this battle as best she could on her own, and without items.

Ekans smiled as the Poison Sting hit. Good... Thistle didn't seem to be poisoned... yet. As for the oncoming Ice Punch attack... that might not turn out to be such a good thing. Thistle was a faster Pokémon than it, so dodging wouldn't be very likely to be successful. But there had to be a way, there always was! Ekans thought on it's feet(if it had them) and thought up a plan. However, it would be risky. It curled it's tail over it's head, fixed the Sneasel in it's gaze and tensed it's muscles, ready.
Ekans timed it's little strategy badly. It used a Wrap as Thistle approuched, but the Sneasel had already moved past as struck. The Ice Punch was so cold. Ekans shivered, crying out in pain. Yikes, that hurt. Knocking off the little chunk of ice which had remained, it hissed furiously, locking eyes with Thistle and using a Leer.

The Ice-Punch hit. That was good, and Thistle seemed rather pleased that her speed had gained her yet another hit. The Ekans would be going down much more easily then she had at first thought, even with her wounded arm that was now slowly recovering from the sting. Without warning, however, Sneasel got a glimpse of the Ekans' eyes, and suddenly the reptilians eyes seemed to glow, and narrow. Thistle's ears flicked, and she could not pull her eyes away from the Leer.
Alexander grinded his teeth in anger, 'I should have seen that coming!' He should have, he was taught to expect anything in his old line of work, and apparently the rule went for this one too. "Thistle, break its gaze! Quickly now!" Thistle heard her trainer's words, and slowly, she blinked and was able to escape the piercing gaze of the Ekans, even though it still did its damage to its full extent, lowering her Defense Stat. Thistle eagerly awaited her trainer's orders, and soon Alexander called out, "now, Thistle, use Taunt!" Thistle smiled and quickly acted upon using the move that would cause the Ekans to only use attacking-moves.

Ekans watched Thistle using Taunt. It gave an odd sort of whine and then hissed, snapping at Thistle in warning. It had indeed fallen for the Taunt. The snake blinked. Oops. It had fallen for the attack. That couldn't be good. What did Taunt do again? Oh, right. It restricted a Pokémon to offensive moves only. No more Leer. Oh, well, that wasn't so bad. Hehe. It could be a sign that Alexander was scared! It hissed in laughter.
Well, if it couldn't use Leer any more, then at least it had used it once. Now, at least, it's next attack had better be... Poison Sting, the one which had made Alexander so worried. It's mouth opened and a glimmering purple sting shot quicker than a Sneasel in a Quick Attack towards Thistle. Would it hit, and would it poison?

The Poison Sting hit Thistle before she had much time to react, simply because of how fast it shot out and hit her. The Sneasel cried in pain, as the Poison Sting had struck the same arm it had before. Alexander's eyes narrowed, and he waited to see if his Sneasel was poisoned. Sneasel held her arm with its unwounded arm, but she seemed to be in extreme pain. 'Its poisoned,' Alexander thought, and he narrowed his eyes at the Ekans.
"Ignore the pain, Thistle! Ignore it!" Thistle nodded, and moved her arm off of the wounded spot as poison began to affect her. She ignored it the best she could however, even though one could definatly tell she was in pain, she still awaited her trainer's orders. "Hit it with another Ice Punch! Go as quickly as you can, Thistle!" Thistle nodded and charged at the Ekans as fast she could allow herself to go, her unwounded arm ready to deal it another Ice Punch, in the hopes it would hit.

Ekans smiled, toungue flickering out. It tasted that Thistle was indeed Poisoned. Good, brilliant! That was some good news for this battle, even if it had come too late for it's liking. But what to do next? Oh, perhaps avoiding this Ice Punch would be a good idea. It swiftly moved to one side, but the Sneasel was faster, changing her aim and striking a hard blow on Ekans body... or tail. Whichever, it hurt a lot, the crystaline ice which formed there being brushed off in an instant by the snake's tail.
Oh, that was it! Ekans was gonna get them! The serpent Pokémon was panting now, worn out and on it's last legs- er, tail. It hissed angrily, but that was the most it could really do while it was catching it's breath. Then it shot another Poison Sting. Ha! It wouldn't go down that easily! Unfortunately, the attack hand't been very accurate.

Alexander watched as the Ekans showed signs of becoming weakened. A smile grew across Alexander's face, Thistle would probably finish it off fairly easily. However, Thistle too, seemed to be fairly worn out, if for no other reason other then her poisoning. As she waited for Alexander's commands, her unwounded arm still held the poisoned one.
Alexander watched as the Ekans shot out a less-than-accurate Poison Sting. Alexander quickly reacted, even though he knew it wasn't worth it, "Thistle, dodge it!" Thistle didn't really have to move, as the Poison Sting was shot out a little to far to the right. However, She dodged it anyway, and awaited Alexander's commands, as the Ekans had yet to completely give up this fight. "Thistle, lets try and finish it off! Use Bite!" Thistle nodded, and after a few minutes of preparing herself, ran forward to use bite-whether or not it hit, however, had yet to be decided.

ooc// Wait, how come Thistle knows two egg moves?
ic// Bite was a fairly powerful attack, and Ekans was fairly weak right now. It attempted to dodge, of course, as one would when being threatened by an attack which would probably result in fainting, but, being weak, Ekans just didn't have the energy to move as fast as it could. Unable to do much against the Bite, Ekans had tried, but the Sneasel's jaws had clamped down hard on it, however. It was too late. Ekans tried to remain in the battle, blinking hard and shaking it's head, but it was no use. All it's energy gone, it fell, defeated.
Ekans was defeated! Thistle gains two levels!

((OOC: I responded to your OOC by PM'ing you. : P)) IC:
He had done it. Alexander chuckled at the fact he had won against the Ekans. Thistle seemed very proud as well, and she soon found herself sitting on the ground and doodling the Ekans. However, the poison still affected her, and Alexander knew he would have to heal it-and soon. "So, Thistle-" Alexander called, and the Sneasel's ear flicked, as if in response. "Should we add this guy to our team?" Thistle looked over at the fainted Ekans, and then down at her poisoned arm, which she winced at. However, the Sneasel was still determined to stand strong, and she stood and faced Alexander, and nodded.
"That would be a yes, Alex. I think Ekans would make a great part of our team." Masquerade spoke suddenly, watching the fainted Ekans as if making sure it had aurally fainted. Alexander nodded, and took out one of his empty pokeballs, and flung it at the Ekans, hoping for the best. Masquerade then walked over to Thistle, and looked at the poisoning on her arm. "Alex," Masquerade spoke, concerned, "you should heal Thistle." Alexander nodded, however he did not take his eyes off of the thrown pokeball. Thistle began to doodle in the ground again, as if she wasn't interested anymore.
