Damien and Jet walked along the beginning of Route Two. Damien had returned Drago to his Pokeball sometime before hand in order to keep him rested up for the next battle. As the duo walked along, Damien began to think of which Pokemon he should use next. 'I'll use either Fang or Sunshine. Whichever one will have to be decided on the next Pokemon we battle.' he thought as he and Jet continued down the route. "Hey, Jet, what kind of Pokemon do you think that we'll meet?" asked Damien. "I can't say Damien. Pokemon are as unpredictable as the weather." replied Jet. The two fell quiet as they continued down the route.

A variety of Pokémon were relaxing in the warmth of the summer from the sidelines of the shady trees. Most had no interest in them at all, others watched without a change in expression as the humans and his daemon passed. Then two showed interest in possibly a battle. The first was a Wurmple, the next a Burmy.

Now Damien and Jet walked along the route, something about the Wurmple intrigued Damien. 'The Wurmple can eventually become either a Psychic move wielding Dustox, or a Beautifly. Both of which are strong Bug-types. I think that I'll ask the Wurmple for a battle.' thought Damien as he moved closer to the Wurmple. Looking over to Jet, Jet nodded his head and approved of Damien choice for a battle. "Excuse me, Wurmple. Would you mind having a battle with me and one of my Pokemon?" inquired Damien.

As Burmy sighed, slinking off back into the forest as it became apparent that Damien had chosen to fight Wurmple rather than it. Shame. Wurmple, however, was in a better mood. Smiling through the pinsers, the worm-like Pokémon nodded enthusiastically. It knew that in just one more level, it would evolve into either a Silcoon or Cascoon, sealing it's fate on whether it will be a Beautifly or Dustox. Then, at just level ten, it would become it's final form. Wurmple were handy for trainers since they evolved so fast. This Bug nodded. ~Yesh, yesh, Imma fight! You first, meester trainer!~ it insisted.

Damien grinned as the Wurmple agreed to battle. And he knew just the Pokemon to use. Taking out a Pokeball, Damien said, "Fang, time for battle." In a flash, the determined Poochyena appeared battle ready. Looking at his trainer, Fang nodded his head and waited for his order. "Fang! Start things off with a Tackle attack." ordered Damien. The Poochyena nodded and charged forward ready to Tackle the Wurmple.

Wurmple aren't the fastest of Pokémon in their first evolution. This Wurmple seemed speedier, but not fast enough to dodge Fang's Tackle attack. The caterpillar Pokémon was knocked to one side, where it cried out and began thinking of a move which would be useful to use. It descided to judge on that previous attack; Poochyena were fast, Wurmple not so much. Therefore, lowering Fang's Speed stat, although not evening the gap, would be helpful. A string of sticky web shot from it's mouth; String Shot.

Damien grinned with the thought that this might be an easy battle. Then came the String Shot which might make them lose their advantage. Thinking about his next move, Damien said, "Fang, forget about the String Shot and use Howl to boost your attack and maybe instill fear into the Wurmple." The Poochyena nodded and gave the Wurmple a toothy grin, showing off his set of teeth. Forgetting about the String Shot, Fang prepared to let out the attack boosting Howl.

Wurmple did in fact shiver a little at the Howl, but it shook it off, thinking that it was being a little silly to be scared of a simple sound. This Wurmple was tough. This Wurmple was brave. Stupid as that sounds, this Wurmple was fearless. Well, maybe not completely fearless, but still. As the String Shot was completely ignored, Wurmple figured that it was about time that it stopped the chain of stat-boosting and draining attacks, charging forward with remarkable speed in a Tackle.

~~Sorry 'bout the wait. Too many things to do in the day without enough hours.~~
Damien grinned as the Howl worked to perfection. Seeing that the Wurmple was ready to stop the non-damaging moves, Damien decided to do the same. Thinking of an order, Damien said, "Fang! Charge forward with a Tackle attack! Meet that Wurmple head on!" Fang nodded and gave the Wurmple a toothy grin before he shot forward ready to use the desired move. Jet, who was watching the battle from behind Damien, noticed that this Wurmple seemed to be either really brave, or really dumb.

Wurmple growled but grinned at the same time as it picked up the steady pace at which it's muscles tugged the small form along. It seemed as though the attacks would both hit... surely Wurmple wasn't so stupid he didn't realise that this would hurt? Wurmple seemed to be smirking as it lowered it's head.
Collision. A cry from Wurmple. Dust rose. When it cleared, all would be revealed. Of course, t was highly unlikely that this Pokémon, at two levels higher that Fang, would go down in just two moves. This was correct; Wurmple's slime appeared to have locked it in place rather than sending it flying like it otherwise would have done. It shook the aching pain away, although it knew it had been weakened. Now, the question was this; how was Fang?

Of course Fang did not have any stick slime to keep him cemented to the ground. All he had were his paws. So when he collided with the Wurmple, it was only natural that he would be sent backwards a couple paces. And this is what happened. Damien knew that Fang was probably lower in level than the Wurmple, but he wanted to give the little guy a chance to prove himself. Thinking of an order, Damien called out, "Fang! You okay, buddy?" After getting a nod from the Poochyena, Damien continued, "All right then, charge forward again with a Tackle attack. Full speed ahead!" Fang nodded and sprinted as fast as his little legs could carry him toward the Wurmple.

Wurmple laughed. Pft, if this Poochyena thought that the same attack would work after seeing it fail, he could think again. The bug tensed it's muscles to give it better suction to the ground, and sighed. It was almost bored of this battle, although, it had to admit, in the more tense moments it could get very good and fun. Wurmple wasn't expecting to feel more than the Tackle attack, so it was a big surprise for it when the Tackle struck it from underneath, forcing it upwards and making it land, hard, a few feet away. After a little trouble in getting up, the caterpillar charged in a Tackle. It seemed that Damien had discovered it's weak point.

Damien grinned as he found the Wurmple's weak spot. Thinking quickly, Damien knew that that is where Fang must hit if they were to win this battle. Seeing that the Wurmple was getting back up and about to use Tackle, Damien called out, "Fang, charge forward with a Tackle attack. Aim for right underneath its head." Fang nodded and charged forward ready to meet the Wurmple head on.

Wurmple squealed, realising that Fang was attempting the same attack he had done before. The bug twisted over as fast as possible, starting to run at walking pace away. But, however, this was all in vain. For, since Poochyena had a fairy good Speed stat, Fang easily caught up with Wurmple, ramming into it's chin. Wurmple was glad it wasn't it's neck; it was pretty certain that that could kill, and so was illigal in Pokémon battles. The caterpillar landed on it's back, wavy body waving in attempt to righten itself before it was Fang's turn again. It couldn't do it! ~Stupeed... trainer! He no can has win!~ it growled, saving itself by shooting a String Shot to a tree and pulling itself up, before using the move on Fang. The String Shot, as before, would even out a little more difference betweem their Speed stats.

Damien grinned as Fang successfully hit the Wurmple. Seeing that the Wurmple was having trouble getting up, Damien knew that this battle was almost over. Especially seeing how the Wurmple had to use a tree to help itself up. Then came the String Shot. Due to this attack, Fang would now be a little bit slower. "Fang! Let's counter a stat changing attack with another stat changing attack. Use Howl!" said Damien. Fang nodded and gave a Howl which should boost his attack.
