ooc// Wurmple wasn't actually really weak. If you've ever turned a beetle on it's back, you'd know what I was trying to get at; a weakness. It is weak, of course, still.
ic// Wurmple shivered in response to the Howl attack. It wouldn't effect any of it's stats, of course, but it was still... chilling. An eiree sound. Like death itself, calling up from the deepest chasm of hell to grasp you in it's icey hand... Wumple grunted, shaking off the poetic creepy thoughts. Fang's attack was raised, his speed lowered. What would this account to, however? The only way to find that one out was the obvious; fight. Wurmple swung backwards and forwards from it's string, using the momentum to move faster in it's Tackle.

~~Oops. I've always been the kind of person who flips them back to their original position.~~
Damien grinned as the Howl took effect. Of course all he wanted the Howl to do was to boost Fang's attack. Putting a little fear into the Wurmple was just an added bonus. Then came the shocker. The Wurmple used it's String Shot to propel itself while using Tackle. Seeing this, Damien realized that there is only one thing that Fang could do. Calling out to his Pokemon, Damien said, "Fang! Dodge it! Do your best not to let it hit you!" Then Damien realized that the String Shots that Fang took earlier might have slowed him down to the point where he might not be able to dodge the attack. Damien could only hope that Fang would dodge the Wurmple's attack in time.

Wurmple grinned as the bug whizzed through the air. This was the fastest it had ever gone! Would this be what it was like when it evolved into a Dustox/Butterfree? Flying... Wurmple wished to could evolve now, and find out what it would be when it was fully evolved. The caterpillar did indeed hit Fang, but not as you would imagine. There was no amazing blow to the stomach, no being flung into the air. Instead, Wurmple struck Fang on the tail.

Damien gave a sigh of relief as the Wurmple only hit Fang's tail. At least it wouldn't hurt him too much. Fang, however, was slightly miffed. He was glad that he dodged the brunt of the attack, but slightly angry that he could not dodge the attack completely. The Poochyena then looked over to his trainer and awaited an order. Damien noticed this and said, "Fang, use Tackle while the Wurmple is still attached to the String Shot." The Poochyena nodded, turned around, and ran towards the Wurmple.

~NYAAAA!~ Wurmple screeched as it felt the Poocyena collide with it, sending it shooting higher. It was still somehow attached the the String Shot, but it was now rather weak and still swinging in a big circle, too weak to do much and growing steadily weaker. Would this be it, in the end? No amazing blow, no astonishingly powerful Pokémon taking it down in a way it could be honoured for? Just a Poochyena and a String Shot, making a homemade dizzying swing. No. Wurple still had something left. Using it's final burst of energy, Wurmple swung, then let loose directly at Fang, using the momentum from his Tackle to power it's own extra. This would hurt a lot, but might make Wurmple faint.

Damien inwardly grinned as Fang hit the Wurmple. Seeing the Wurmple swinging around on a string reminded him of back home for some odd reason. Shaking his head of any memories that might cloud his judgement, Damien saw that the Wurmple was preparing to do a Tackle attack, yet again. However, this time it seemed that it would do a lot more damage than it did before. Wanting to finish this quickly, Damien said, "Fang! Time to finish this. Use Tackle." The Poochyena nodded and charged forward to meet the Wurmple head on.

Wurmple could do nothing but watch miserably as the dog rushed up to meet it, sending the Bug quickly flying. It squealed an odd cry shortly before landing awkwardly in the dust, unmoving. This was a fainted Wurmple, and this meant that Fang had defeated it. It had failed to gain that level, the one needed to evolve. Oh, well. Hopefully, this trainer would catch it, and train it until it evolved.
Wurmple was defeated! Fang gained three levels! Wurmple is now catchable!

Damien grinned as Fang defeated the Wurmple. Now he was faced with a dilemma. Should he catch the Wurmple? Or should he just leave it there? Damien realized that he could not leave the Wurmple there to fend for itself. Taking out Fang's Pokeball as well as an empty one, Damien said, "Good work, Fang. We'll get you super tough in no time. Return."After he said this, a beam of red light shot out of the Pokeball and enveloped Fang, returning him to his Pokeball. Pocketing Fang's Pokeball, Damien held the empty one in his right hand and said, "Nice try, Wurmple. Time for you to become part of the team." Damien then threw the Pokeball towards the Wurmple.

Wurmple, being fainted, gave no resistance to the Pokéball, being easily swept up by it in the usual manner of red light. The 'ball shook violently, once, twice, three times... it seemed as though Damien would fail! But then, thankfully, a loud ping sound wrang out through the woods. At the same moment, a bush nearby rustled, a pair of eyes watching Damien for a moment before fading away with another rustle. Something was there.
Wurmple was caught!

Damien was about to do a dance of joy when the Pokeball when he heard the rustle in the bushes. However, once he turned to look, there was nothing there. 'Huh? Must have been the wind. Or some random Pokemon decided to watch the battle.' Damien thought as he went to pick up the newest addition to his team. Then came the hard part, naming the Wurmple. Due to the randomness of the Wurmple's evolution, Damien could not name him something that pertained to just Beautifly or Dustox. This would take some serious thinking on Damien's part. Looking down at the Pokeball, Damien said, "I'll name you... Rolland. Don't ask me why." Pocketing the Pokeball, Damien said, "Come on, Jet. I wanna explore a bit. And I know just the place to start. " Damien then began to move towards the bush that was being used as a watch tower.

The bush ruslted again, this time more violently. Another pair of eyes appeared, followed by the original. A joint nervous giggle was heard. ~He's coming!~ came a male voice. ~I know, I saw! Hide~ cried a fearful female. However, despite what she had said, no more rustling came from the bush.
When Damien peared expectantly into the bush, he could see... nothing. Absolutely nothing. Wait, nothing but too red zigzags floating in mid-air. A gentle breeze picked up, and the dust and leaves blew about, easily revealing two solid shapes there. One of them flickered for a moment. ~Dang it, he saw us!~ the female sighed. They both became visible, revealing a male and female Kecleon. Wow, Damien! Lucky you! Kecleon are pretty rare! They both smiled. ~Hey, trainer. Would you like to fight one of us? Take your pick.~ the male offered.

Jet observed the Kecleon and realized that this would be a good time to practice double battling. Looking over to Damien, the Daemon said, "Damien, why don't have a double battle with these two? It would be an excellent opportunity to encourage teamwork between your Pokemon." Damien nodded his head in agreement and said, "Good idea, Jet. Well, how about it you two. Do you want to have a double battle?" He then awaited the Kecleons' answer.
~~Sorry for the short post~~

The two Kecleon cocked their heads to one side in unison. Their answer would be able to be translated by Jet. ~Yeah, a double battle, but-~ the female began, ~-you can only catch one of us if you win.~ the male picked up almost immedietly. Then they jumped apart to face both the left and right sides of Damien, no longer moving in unison. What odd Pokémon Kecleon were, right?

Damien nodded and said, "Okay. Got it. And I know which two to use." Taking out two Pokeballs, Damien said, "Drago, Sunshine. Time for battle." In a flash, the Bagon and Oddish appeared ready for battle. Looking at their two opponents, they realized that these two were probably masters at teamwork. Seeing that the two Kecleon were no longer moving in tandem, Damien knew that this was the time to strike. "Drago, use Bite on the male Kecleon. Sunshine, use Absorb on the female." Both Pokemon nodded and prepared to move in for the attack.

The Kecleon exchanged glances, nodding to each other. They both knew that, thanks to their ability, they would become the same type as the last attack which had struck them, meaning that if Drago and Sunshine used another Dark or Grass type move on them, it wouldn't be as effective. The Kecleon both gritted their teeth, allowing the attacks to hit. The male actually cried out in pain as the teeth penetrated his skin, making him flash a black colour as he became a Dark type. He watched as the female flashed a brighter green, becoming a Grass type. They were their original colours, still, just a different type.
The female was the first to take action. Darting towards Sunshine, she drew her clawed hand backwards, perparing for a Scratch attack. The male took advantage of the fact that the Bagon was so close, attempting to use Lick on his face. Gross.
