Firian glared at the fainted Gastly with triumph burning in his eyes. He had won! He bounced back as the man fell forward onto his knees so close to Firian. He growled softly at the man as he sobbed, nearly cheering as the Poochyena faced the man and told him what was what. Arienette scoffed at the pathetic man, Sel at her side shaking his head slowly. Such a shame, that humans fall to such lows as to mistreat all things around himself. "Just leave. Get your Gastly cared for, then release it. I don't want to ever hear from you again," Arienette dismissed the man, narrowing her eyes in anger. Such people were the very scum on the world.

ooc// If you haven't already added them yet, Firian gains two levels!
ic// The Grunt wiped his eyes, glaring at Arienette. He clutched his only Pokémon's Pokéball tight to his chest, whimpering over it that he would never be defeated again. "I won't... I won't be defeated... they... they'll take away Ghastly! Replace it, probably, with a wimpy Rattata or something. But... if I capture the Poochyena... I guess it's just me now." he bared his teeth, pulling the sleeves up his skinny arms. The Zubat daemon shrieked wildly, flitting about his head in excitement for the capture of the little dog.
Poochyena's tail was tucked firmly between his legs, ears flat against his neck. He let out a long moan, taking a shaking step backwards towards the girl who had already saved him once. As the Grunt lined up and bent his legs, preparing to leap, the cautious Dark type did something which astounded himself. He didn't know whether it was bravery or stupidity, but he lunged, snarling, at the Grunt, ripping a rolled up sleeve clean off. Their eyes both widened in surprise, then Poochyena advanced forwards. Quick as a flash, the Grunt realized he ad lost and scarpered off.
Poochyena yipped happily, leaping at Arienette now and licking her face gleefully. He looked into her eyes, smiling. ~I... I did it! And you helped! You're so brave, trainer! I want... I want to stay with you. Like your Growlithe!~ the puppy begged, a spark of hope in his eyes.

Arienette smiled softly down at the Poochyena. "You're a brave little scrap!" she told him happily. Sel at her side said, "He wants to join us." Arientte smiled again. She pulled a PokeBall out of her pack and gestured for the Poochyena to stand back. She tossed the PokeBall, it's side glinting dark in the faint moonlight. It landed close to the Poochyena and a beam of red came out, covering the Pokemon.

The Poochyena's face shone with glee at Arienette's agreement to his request. He had a trainer! He would go on all sorts of adventures and become really strong! His tail thumped the ground as it wagged furiously in his joy. He felt the red light draw him inside and allowed it to, hardly shaking the Pokéball at all before he was caught inside.
Congrats! You befriended a Poochyena and caught him!

The Pokeball shook once then stopped. In the silence over the woods, Arienette walked over to the Pokeball and picked up her new friend. She smiled as she tucked it away, knowing she had made a very valuable ally. "Ready, Sel?" she asked of her daemon. He nodded, glancing around the woods. He muttered under his breath, just out of Arinette's hearing, "Tonight has been too exciting! Bugs and villains! What's next?!"

It was starting to grow lighter; dawn would break soon. The nocturnal Pokémon were starting to go to sleep, and the daytime Pokémon were just waking up. A small scamper of feet was heard on the path in front of Arienette. A little sniffle, and a Pokémon came into view, scampering about it's home and sniffing things. It was a Pichu. It saw the female trainer and looked up with a smile. ~Chu! Piii-chu!~ this couldn't be translated as more than an expression of surprise and happiness.

Arienette, lost in thought for a moment, didn't even notice the little Pichu as it stepped into her view until it spoke with a smile. Arienette started and then smiled back. The little Pichu looked very very happy, and a little bit surprised. It must not be used to seeing people at this time of day.

Pichu grinned as it saw that Arienette noticed it. It had no idea where this trainer had come from, but it sure was nice to see her. Maybe she could help it! Squeaking, it pointed to her. ~Hello, trainer! Can you help me? I need help! I need you to punish the bad Pokémon! Will you do it?~ it asked hopefully.

Sel cocked his head as the Pichu began to squeak rapidly. "... punish bad Pokemon?" he said. Arienette looked down at the small mousie Pokemon. Bad Pokemon? That can't be good . . .

Pichu nodded. The trainer seemed confused, but why? Maybe she hadn't heard of them or something? But no. Of course not. That was insane! EVERYone had heard of them. But then again, she didn't live on Route One, now, did she? Therefore she wouldn't have heard the stories. ~Yes, a bad Pokémon. There's this really mean and scary Ekans who hurts everyone! Follow me!~ it squeaked, toddling off as fast as it's little legs could carry it.
It took Arienette to an Ekans. Nearby lay a few fainted Pokémon, mostly Rattata or Bidoof, were scattered, a few waking and racing off, squealing in terror. The Ekans looked up, and saw Pichu. It gave a smile, and the next thing anyone knew Ekans tossed Pichu behind it. Pichu fainted on impact. Ekans then turned to Arienette- and attacked.

Arienette lurched backwards trying to not be killed with just a single thought before she fell: "Why does everything try to eat my face?!" She landed hard on her butt, and Pokeballs flew off her belt in all directions. She grabbed the nearest one and threw it, praying Firian was in it. He could beat it. Rox, Arienette's female, and rather clumsy, Geodude tumbled out. Arienette groaned inwardly. The only offensive move Rox knew was Tackle, and Ekans probably would not give anyone a chance to chase down Pokeballs until a stronger Pokemon was found.

Ekans acted quickly. It was truly... bloodthirsty, in a way. It didn't seem to draw blood, was still extremely violent for no reason, and beat anything in its way senseless- regardless of their strength. It was true that all this was in fact Ekan trying to evolve, yet still partly, perhaps even mostly, the snake just having fun inflicting pain. What a sick Pokémon.
The snake hissed, angry. It had hoped for more of a challenge from a trainer. It slithered over to Rox, tail shooting up and whipping around, trying to wrap around the Geodude in a Wrap attack.

"Tackle!" Arienette yelled, tensing. Rox lunged at the Ekans, and Arienette prayed the unorthodox Pokemon would not somehow trip.

Ekans watched the Geodude. How strange... she seemed to stumble at one point. How could a floating Pokémon stumble? Rox must be special... especially clumsy, that was. Good, perfect. That worked for it. This made things much easier. The snake was still pondering how on earth a Pokémon that wasn't even touching the ground could stumble on it when the hard, rough body of Rox collided with it at a speedy pace.
Ekans felt a lot of pain; Rock types had a high Attack stat because they were so rock hard. It pretended it hadn't felt much, though, as it reacted quickly with a Wrap attack.

Rox felt the Wrap attack and quivered, trying to loosen the Ekans tight coils. She grunted with the effort of it. "Sel, go see if the Pichu is okay while Ekans is preoccupied. Grab a Pokeball if you have time," Arienette whispered to Sel. He nodded, but gave her a look that plainly said Why not you? "Because I'm too big to be subtle. The Ekans might not notice you're missing, but it would notice if I went." Sel backed carefully into some bushes and crouched low, pelt prickling. He circled around, sniffing carefully so he could come out of the bushes and tall grass close to Pichu and maybe grab it and pull it to safety. AND, if he was not mistaken, there was a Pokeball by Pichu's foot . . .
