Luckily, Cresselia had decided to change positions while she had the chance. The one that Spearow hit was an illusion. The real Cresselia was among one of the seven remaining.
"Confusion, one more time," Ichigo decided. Cresselia launched the attack while changing positions again. As long as she kept this up, she wouldn't get hit. The less hits, the better.

Spearow ignored the Confusion this time, although it still took it's toll. This was getting very annoying. It was faster than Cresselia, so how come it'd only laid one attack when Cresselia had dodged three attacks and laid down four! Yeah, that wasn't fair. No Pokémon would just be dodge, dodge, dodge. That was when battles got boring and wild Pokémon began to ignore you.
Spearow, however, wasn't one to give up, even with the ridiculous amount of dodging that had been going on. It swooped down faster than ever, sweeping over in a wide arc and Peck attack which would cut through each illusion, but hurt the real one when it got to her.

"Ouch!" The hit caught Cresselia off guard and sent her back quite a distance. Ichigo got ready for the next move. Luckily for her, Cresselia hadn't taken a lot of damage, so if she could get in a few more shots...
"Confusion again, full power!" It really was the only offensive move she could use, but at least it was working.

Spearow was pleased that it's Peck attack had finally struck it's mark, but annoyed that the Confusion attack was still going. It was a shame the attack was used through the mind, otherwise Spearow knew it would easily be able to dodge it just as Cresselia had been dodging all it's moves. This Confusion had it down on the ground again.
Full of pain and cold fury, Spearow cawed. Another attack would do it, but Spearow was determined. Cresselia wasn't showing any signs of weakness. It wasn't fair! Why was such a large, slower Pokémon able to dodge all but two of the moves from a small, speedy Spearow? Why would it need to, anyway? Peck wasn't the strongest of attacks, and Confusion was quite strong. It was a good thing Spearow was determined, or it would have fled looking for a better battle. With low spirits, it flew low across the the grass in a final Peck.

Cresselia got hit again, but wasn't too badly injured. She'd been caught off guard. As long as she got in a couple more shots, she could win.
"Use Confusion one more time!" Ichigo decided. It was really the only thing she could do at this point.

Spearow twittered in delight as Cresselia was hit. Good. Brilliant! It felt the pain of Confusion seep into it's brain, but moaned, shaking it out. No use. Confusion was too strong for a weakened Pokémon like Spearow. The bird cawed in pain as it fell to the ground. It was out before it hit the ground. It's last thought before the battle ended with it's defeat was, "Stupid dodging fatty." then it's eyes were closed.
Spearow was defeated! Cresselia gained two levels!

"I heard that," Cresselia thought back, slightly annoyed.
Ichigo hadn't, however. She was focusing on another victory. "Nice work, Cresselia! You're a great Pokemon to have on a team!"
"What about your other Pokemon?" Kizu asked.
"All of my Pokemon are great. It's just that this was my first battle using Cresselia," Ichigo explained as she threw another Pokeball at the Spearow.

The Pokéball bounced of Spearow's head, at first giving the impression that Spearow wouldn't even be drawn inside. However, the bird was then sucked up by the wonderfull red light, then began to put up a fight inside the device. However, eventually, it calmed down a little. This was, presumably, it's weakened state taking over and forcing it to rest. Spearow felt a horrible sense of defeat and failure, and finally acceptance as it's eyes shut and it knew it was now Ichigo's Pokémon.
Ichigo caught a Spearow!
Name: Species: Spearow Gender: Level: 6 Ability: Keen Eye Attacks: Growl, Peck, Leer Personality: This bird is quick, hardy, and above all, very stubborn. Ignoring anything thrown in it's path, this Spearow will fight to the end, but likes to do things it's own way, so is often disobedient.

"You've almost got a full team now, Kizu commented.
"I know; one more and I'll have a full team of six. Do you think I should stay out a bit longer?" Ichigo asked.
"I think that would be a good idea."

A Pokémon chose that moment in time to show itself to Ichigo, right on time. A nervous looking Lotad emerged from the bushes, looking right at Ichigo; it clearly had seen her earlier and just now chosen to come out. It's lilypad over it's back wobbled, and it let out a terrified squeak. Lotad shook with fear.
However, it then steadied itself, strangely and suddenly a lot more confident for no reason. It looked at Ichigo. ~Can you battle me?!~ it asked brightly, before looking glum. ~No, of course not. No-one ever battles with me.~ it sighed. What an odd array of mood swings.

Ichigo giggled a bit at the antics of this strange Lotad. How fun it would be to battle it. "Of course I'll battle you!" she answered with a smile. "Cresselia, can you handle another battle? Wingull would be at a disadvantage."
"I think that can be arranged," Cresselia answered.
"Okay; start with Confusion!" Cresselia did just that.

Lotad felt the pressure closing in on his mind. Ow! That hurt! How dare Cresselia do that! He would totally eat her stupid fat face! And then he would get his revenge! Mwahahaha! But Cresselia couldn't help it, she was just an innocent Pokémon, it wasn't her fault, but he'd eat her anyway! Hahaha! Aw, but it was a battle, and she was letting him fight as a favour... and so on. Lotad gave new meaning to the condition bipolar. He was more than bipolar, he was... multipolar.
Well, with another range of confused emotions, Lotad moved in for his own attack. Flattening himself so that his lilypad was facing Cresselia, a flurry of green beads shot towards her in an Absorb attack. He had a good aim, and a nice view of his hands, too. They were very stubby. When he evolved, he'd had fingers. That would be strange! He grinned.

Ichigo silently cursed as Cresselia was hit, some of her energy draining away from her. "Don't give up! Use Confusion again!"
Cresselia shook off the pain and fired off another Confusion attack. It was either that or Double Team, and that wouldn't really help in this situation.

The Confusion stabbed a Lotad again, this time thinking along different lines. The Confusion was painful, yes, but he was brave. And good. And good always truimphed over evil! Although he wasn't sure if Cresselia was evil. She was pretty and light and all... no matter. She made Lotad go owie. She would pay! PAY!
Lotad bent down again, at first forgetting to attack. He stared at a teeny tiny bug crawling about, before remembering he was in a battle and firing an Absorb.

This Lotad seemed a bit distracted, Ichigo noted. Well, now she was getting distracted and let Cresselia get hit again. This wasn't good; the less hits she took, the better.
"Use Confusion again!" she decided. It was really the only things she could do at this point in time.
