Ichigo shivered slightly as a breeze chilled her. "Hey, if a little breeze like that affects you, I'd hate to see you when it snows," Kizu sighed. Wingull was over on her other shoulder, and Nincada was on the ground beside her.
"I just didn't expect it; that's all," Ichigo insisted. He wasn't buying it, snickering along with Nincada. Wingull just sighed.
She'd come out to see if she could spot anything interesting. She'd recently found and caught a really cool new Pokemon, so what if something like that happened again?
Smiling, she took out the Pokeball and released her new Pokemon. A Cresselia floated beside her, standing out greatly in their surroundings. She hoped that she hadn't startled anyone too much by doing this.

While Ichigo was hoping no-one was startled by the appearance of the legendary, she was in luck, sort of; there was no-one around to startle, it seemed. So, therefore, Cresselia remained unnoticed. Well, at least by human eye. There was someone who did notice Cresselia. His eyes widened, and he stood with his front paws a few inches off the ground for a better look, although he didn't stand completely upright. His face was fixed on Cresselia, his eyes reflecting the light, shiny Pokémon. He wanted it! He raced off in Ichigo's direction.
~Meee-owwwwth.~[/color] The Pokémon said, voice rising in pitch as he grew nearer. Meowth like himself were famous- or infamous- for loving and stealing shiny things. And Cresselias were very colourful and sparkly. Meowth sat down, staring at it. ~Ooooh... So... purdy... Meowth wants...~[/color] he said, totally entranced by the legendary.[/size]

"Hmm? Did any of you hear that?" Wingull asked.
"I heard it too. A Legendary Pokemon is always bound to attract attention," Kizu noted.
"Isn't that a Meowth?" Ichigo pointed out, noticing the Scratchcat Pokemon.
"Yeah, and they love anything shiny," Kizu added.

Meowth stared at the legendary, barely listening to Ichigo and Kizu's words. However, a thought began to brew in his brain. Perhaps... it were possible to join the ranks of this perticular Cresselia? Meowth guessed that she belonged to this trainer, this Ichigo person. So... if it challenged Ichigo to a battle, then it'd be able to see whether this trainer was worthy of catching Meowth!
The cat Pokémon yowled, fur brislting as it bared it's teeth at Ichigo. Well, it was pretty obvious that this Normal type was looking for a battle!

"Since Wingull had the last couple of battles, I'll let Nincada fight this time," Ichigo decided.
"Yahoo! Alright! I'm ready when you are!" Nincada cheered. Ichigo laughed; even as her partner, Nincada was still itching for a fight.
"Okay, open up with Scratch!" Ichigo decided. Nincada dashed forwards, claws at the ready.

Meowth watched the Nincada move forwards in a Scratch attack. What was the Bug type playing at? A Scratch attack on a scratch cat? OK, now she'd done it. The Meowth was not going to be hit by the move it was famous for. The yowling cat easily dodged to one side of the attack, smiling in satisfaction as it did so. It then twisted around, lunging for Nincada. It'd show him what a real Scratch attack looked like, courtesy of the scratch cat Pokémon!

"Try using Harden, then Scratch again!" Ichigo decided. Kizu noted that she was getting better. She wasn't just rushing in with her attacks; she was taking time to adjust Nincada's stats at the same time.
Nincada quickly hardened his body, preparing for the claws to strike. After the attack connected, Nincada quickly scratched again while he was still in a close enough range.

Meowth laughed as it saw that the Nincada's move was Harden. Bah! Harden, against the mighty claws of itself! Hahaha! It might as well have stayed still and yelled 'free hit'! The cat Pokémon showed off a little, as Meowth like to do, doing a flip in the air as it leapt upon Nincada. Grinning as the Scratch hit, it blew on it's claws as a cowboy does to his gun in a movie. The Meowth then began to move back, unaware of the advancing Buy type. Nincada's Scratch attack easily struck it's mark, and Meowth yowled and hissed furiously.
Maddening rage in it's eyes, Meowth could barely think for anger. How dare they? How dare they start to turn this match around? Nincada's Defense was raised, of course, so he hadn't taken as much damage as Meowth had. The cat was so furious that it didn't think straight, just slashing madly at any part of Nincada it could in a very uncontrolled Scratch.

"I think you made him mad," Cresselia noted.
"I've got to think of something... I know! Nincada, use Scratch to parray!"
Nincada, thinking quickly, scratched along with Meowth, trying to block as many as he could. He got hit by a few, but his raised defence protected him somewhat.

Meowth mewed and yowled as Scratch after Scratch was parried. True, it'd got a few in, but still... annoying! It roared, preparing to go in for another all-out attacking spree, but then stopped. It calmed down, closing it's eyes and taking deep breaths. Now, now. It had to keep it's mind. After all, if it lost control of itself to anger, then it would never win. So, calmed down, the cat went in for another attack. This time, Meowth was using a new move; a Bite attack. With Nincada near, it was sure to hit.

"Quick, Harden!" Ichigo warned. Nincada's shell hardened even more as Meowth bit down. It still hurt, but not as much as it would have if he hadn't used Harden when he had the chance.
"While you're close enough, use Leech Life!" Leech Life was a weak attack, but it would help be giving Nincada a bit more energy.
Nincada aimed carefully and bit down hard. He could feel the energy being drained into him through the blood. It wasn't much, but it would help.

The needle that was produced by Leech Life was a successful hit, peircing into Meowth and gathering some of it's energy. It then returned to Nincada, and he would feel the energy spread through his body. Meowth didn't feel much, and laughed. ~Is that the best you can do, kid? Bah. You're weak, you know that?~[/color] it smirked, lunging for Nincada. The cat Pokémon's claws were out, and it's paw was raised. Yes, this looked exactly like it was using a Scratch attack.[/size]

"Weak?! I'll show you weak!" Nincada shouted angrily. He used his speed to make a quick scratch back, hoping to deal some more damage.

Meowth cursed under it's breath. Harden? That attack was starting to become annoying. The cat watched as the Nincada's shell hardened even more, becoing... well, hard. It'd have trouble getting and attack to hurt too much. It needed more time... well, if Nincada's Attack stat was low, it'd have more time, because his attacks wouldn't do quite so much. Yes, that sounded fine. A smiled krept onto the cat's face as a loud rumbling growl reverberated from it's throat, weakening Nincada's Attack stat. The following Scratch attack was unavoidable because Meowth had been using that Growl, but thankfully it felt less pain.
Meowth's mouth curved into a wider smile. Yes... it had worked! The scratch cat Pokémon still had a lot of energy left in it, and lunged at Nincada while he was still close, pointed teeth showing as it went in for a Bite attack.

This wasn't good. Ichigo knew that she had to get on the offensive, and fast! There had to be something she could do...
"Duck and Scratch!" she decided. Nincada, using the speed his kind were known for, ducked down low and dashed in for a Scratch attack aimed at Meowth's belly. The teeth grazed his shell, but he barely felt it due to how hard it was.
