Outside Again

[Birdybot]

Lotad felt the Confusion yet again. Those attacks were pretty painful, and not really the nicest of things. Unfortunately, the way to dodging that move hadn't become too clear to Lotad yet. Perhaps if he were to distract Cresselia when she was focusing on him, but how? Surely if he tried to distract her, she would still be concentrating on him?

Lotad sighed. He could hardly give up. Tired as he may be, he had to stay in there. He rushed forwards on those stubby legs, using the Ghost type Astonish attack.

[Ichigo]

"Ah!" The attack startled Cresselia and made her flinch. Ichigo clentched her teeth; that wasn't a good thing. She knew that Ghost-type attacks were strong against Psychic Types like Cresselia. Looks like she'd have to resort to that tactic again.

"Double Team and Confusion!" Seven more illusionary Cresselias appeared as the attack was performed.

[Birdybot]

Lotad grinned about his discovery of Astonish- and therefore, probably all Ghost type attacks- being super effective against the Psychic type Cresselia. Good. If he were to keep attacking with that move, Cresselia would be going down! He frowned. Was that mean, though? To use a super effective move. Nope, not mean. It would be hilarious when he saw the look on her face! His multiple personalities stopped switched about when they were faced with the problem of the eight Cresselias.

He knew this move. Double Team. Only one was real. He felt pain, from a Confusion attack. Only one of these would be able to attack. He smiled. He would be able to take on this Pokémon; him and his split personalities far outnumbered the Cresselia images! He chuckled, using an Astonish in an oddly cheery manner as the Confusion faded.

[Ichigo]

One fake down, six more and the real one to go. Cresselia liked this tactic; it made her hard to hit, and she could strike without any warning. Ichigo smiled; it looked like her plan was working.

"Keep it up; Confusion again!" The wave of psychic energy was released again.

[Birdybot]

Lotad saw the faint wave coming, and actually managed to dodge despite his sturdy, robust build which didn't enable him quick movement. He smiled; he'd dodged the Confusion. For the first time in this battle, he'd dodged an attack! He was king of the world! Yeah! Take that, Cresselia! He'd keep at it and burn her! BURRRRRN! Oh, but wasn't that mean? Yes, it was, it was cruel and horrible. Eeeeew. Lotad blinked, focusing on the seven Pokémon before him; they'd changed places so he couldn't tell which one had sent the Confusion.

Well, there was only one thing for it, then, right? He'd just have to attack all of them. The fake had vanished when he'd hit it with the Astonish, so all the other fakes would hopefully vanish, too. Lotad ran at the nearest form in an Astonish. If he went through this one, he'd hit the next. If he went through that one, he'd hit the one after, and so on.

[Ichigo]

Astonish hit again, making both Cresselia and Ichigo cringe. The doubles disappeared, leaving behind the startled original. Shaking it off, she prepared for the next attack.

"Confusion!" Ichigo ordered. Not like she really had a lot of options anyways...

[Birdybot]

Lotad could see the Confusion coming, but there wasn't much he could do to avoid it. As pleased as he was with his last victory in the Astonish, he'd been the subject of a number of attacks and supposed it was about time he was defeated. Loss was acceptable when he'd so nearly won. Wait- what was he thinking! He couldn't lose! He had to fight against it! Attempting to dodge the Confusion, the little lilypad Pokémon failed to do so and was hit by the Psychic type attack.

No! This wasn't happening. Lotad moaned as he felt himself slipping. Actually, now he was faced with it, fainting seemed all right. He smiled slightly as he let the blackness close in, paniced, then fainted. Lotad and all his multiple personalities had sucessfully been defeated by Cresselia.

Lotad was defeated! Cresselia gains two levels!

[Ichigo]

"Yes!" Ichigo cheered, tossing a Pokeball at the fallen Lotad. "That was a great battle. I really had fun!"

"It certainly was entertaining," Cresselia answered.

[Birdybot]

The Pokéball absorbed Lotad inside it, then fell to the ground and began shaking. This was Lotad struggling for freedom. Would he get it, however? The lilypad Pokémon was weak from fainting, and fainted Pokémon were incredibly likely to be caught. It was a little amusing to watch Lotad's mood swings show as the Pokéball shook slowly, then fast, then gently, then furiously. Eventually, however, the Pokéball gave a soft ping as the Pokémon was caught.

Lotad was caught!

Ichigo giggled happily as she picked up the Pokeball. "Well done," Kizu praised, shifting into his Houndour form.

"Thank you," Ichigo said with a smile. "You all were great today. I'm going to head back inside and get us all some nice treats to celebrate me catching my sixth Pokemon!"

Everyone cheered as Ichigo returned her Pokemon and went back inside.
