Selek strolled along the browning path with glee. He was overjoyed at the fact he had his first Pokemon, and he held the Pokeball in his hands, starring at it as if it were some rare gem. Well, it wasn't either of those two, seeing as a Magikarp lie inside it. "I still can't believe you," Picard moaned, "picking a Magikarp when you sincerely told me you wanted a Charmander." Selek paused, and placed his Magikarp's pokeball into his coat pocket, "I thought so, until I saw that perfect Orange Leaf." "A Charmander is perfectly Orange! And you went with a Shiny!" Selek's upper lip twitched, and he turned toward Picard, and yelled at him.
"I didn't pick a Shiny! You did, you darned spoiled brat! There's more to Pokemon Training then winning!" "Selek-" "Shut-up! You know how hard we worked to get here, don't you go and ruin it now! We'll win with effort, which may or may not be easy, but we'll do it!" Selek slapped Picard, and Picard took the hit without even budging. Selek then walked away, no longer strolling, until he came up to a tree. He leaned against the tree, as he had done before, and picked off a orange leaf. It was not perfectly orange, it was a pale orange. Selek spoke as if the ordeal had never happened, "A Charmander is slightly paler than a Magikarp. They are not perfectly orange."

A Pokémon, whether Selek liked it or not, was watching the whole affair. It gasped in shock as it saw Selek actually hit his own daemon. What was wrong with him? All the humans it had met had had a strong bond with their daemons, and had loved them! And their daemons felt pretty similair to them! And if they disagreed, they'd never actually hurt their daemons! After all, because of the link between human and daemon, if one got hurt, so would the other. The Pokémon felt it had to investigate this.
Crawling out from it's hiding spot, a Weedle wriggled over to the boy, staring at him. It got right up close. Weedle weren't perticulaly useful at this stage, but when they evolved into a Beedrill, they'd be extremely handy to have. This Weedle spoke, which Picard could translate. ~Why did you hit your daemon? That's silly. A daemon is your soul, so why would you hate it? I think you should get along, make allowances, and be best friends!~ Weedle grinned.

Picard's ears flicked a little, and he was almost afraid to translate what the Weedle said to Selek. However, Selek was waiting for the translation, and Picard gave it correctly. Selek sighed, he didn't know that the Weedle was watching, or else he probably would have restrained himself from hitting Picard. "I do get along with him. You have little business to swell into my soul's matters. What you saw was simply a reflection of what I felt, and nothing more."
Picard grew nervous. Selek had never been confronted on how he was treating his Daemon. Picard only hoped that the little Weedle could survive a few water guns in order to get away, but Picard remained silent not saying anything. He was rather afraid, although he did not show it in his eyes or facial expression.

Weedle glared at Selek, not believing for one moment what he was saying. A reflection of what he felt? When most people Weedle had seen disagreed with their daemons, they negociated with them, not hit them. This little caterpillar was not satisfied with that answer, so it began to make them up itself. Maybe Selek and Picard had a very weak bond for some reason, or maybe he just had extremely bad social skills, even to his own soul. Weedle concluded that there was definately something wrong with Selek.
Well, the Bug type did have reason to think this. For one, Selek's poor social skills. Then, he'd hit his own daemon. Not to mention the fact that his daemon was the same gender at him, which Weedle had never seen before. Ever. Weedle did not like people with something wrong with them. It thought that everyone should be perfect, and then everyone would be happy. It felt it needed to fight people who were not like that, silly Weedle. ~Fight me, weirdo!~

Picard swallowed, and translated what the Weedle said as quickly and as calmly as he could. It could be easily said that Selek and Picard's relationship was an odd one. Most people didn't slap their daemons, but also most people weren't like Selek, who were often subject to jokes by their daemons. However, Selek was right-his outer pain to Picard was a reflection of how he felt on the inside. Of course, his poor social skills also had a lot to do with it.
'Selek, calm yourself.' Picard spoke via his mind, doing his best to prep Selek for battle, 'you have a Magikarp, and I'm sure you can easily think of a strategy to beat this Weedle.' Selek nodded, planning out in his mind what the best plan of action was. He was rather insulted by the Weedle, and he needed to show the Weedle that even if he was a weirdo, he was not a weak trainer. In short, he wanted to be impressive. "Go, Voyager!" Without much warning, Selek summoned his weak starting Pokemon, a Shiny Magikarp, whom he had named Voyager.
Voyager flopped lazily on the ground, and once it realized it was out in the world, he flopped more happily. ~"I'm out! I'm out! Now I can battle!"~ The Shiny Magikarp seemed all to eager to battle, not really caring that its chances of winning were slim. "Lets start off with a Water Gun, Voyager!" Voyager flopped around a bit before he was able to get a good view of the Weedle, and after a few minutes delay, spat out a Water Gun, the only real attack that the Shiny Magikarp knew.

Weedle watched as Selek sent out 'Voyager', expecting some sort of first evolution Water type. What would fit that name? Lapras, Polywag, Lotad? How could it tell? Well, it burst out laughing when it saw that this Pokémon was a Magikarp. It might be a shiny, but it was still a Magikarp. Weedle shook it's head, sighing. This would be too easy. The caterpillar watched as the fish flailed about in the traditional way, apparently taking aim. This took a couple of minutes, and when he was about to fire the attack, Weedle simply crawed out the way, the Water Gun shooting beside it.
How did Magikarp know Water Gun? Well, it supposed that at least it made this battle just a little interesting, after all. Weedle didn't think it needed to do any tricks to catch this Pokémon by surprise, so it simply attacked, using a Poison Sting- the signiture move of a Weedle.

{{OOC: I wasn't sure what Splash would be considered, so hopefully this is a Legal Move.}}
Selek watched as Voyager's water gun missed, and even though that irked him a little, he had expected it. Magikarp's highest stat by the time it reached Level 100 was Speed, but even so a Magikarp was still a Magikarp. It was still weak, and Selek knew he would be faced with situations where Magikarp's attacks would just miss, but he still had to find an advantage. This came when Weedle sent out its signature move, Poison Sting.
Suddenly, Selek got an idea, "Voyager, use Splash to dodge!" The useless move served a purpose, as it launched the poor Magikarp up into the air, hence dodging the attack. "Now, hit the Weedle with another Water Gun!" While Voyager was airborne, he had a better view of the Weedle, and also had an advantage, being higher up then the Weedle. This time, Voyager was somewhat better prepared, and fired his water gun before he began to fall. When Voyager did smack into the ground, it stung a little, probably even hurting himself a bit.

ooc// I guess that's OK.
ic// Weedle watched as the Magikarp used a Splash attack, which actually helped him dodge. Well, it supposed that that had been a bit of luck for Voyager, for Splash was a fairly random thing, so he could count himself lucky that he had managed to dodge. Well, it probably wouldn't be too bad if Voyager had been hit by Poison Sting, because it wasn't a very powerful move. Weedle didn't think about that for much longer; it was hit by the Water Gun.
Fairly wet, Weedle's little eyes narrowed. It was annoyed. It had been dealt damage. From a Magikarp. That was... embarassing. Then again, not many Magikarp knew Water Gun. Weedle shot another Poison Sting at Voyager, acting as if it wasn't recovered yet to hopefully catch Voyager off guard.

Voyager never even seen the Poison Sting coming, and he was sent into the air by the force of the 'surprise' attack, he landed with a smack again on the ground. ~"Owwww.."~ Voyager moaned, ~"That..that really hurt."~ However it was hardly anything to be pained over, again showing a Magikarp's weakness. "Don't back down, Voyager! Use water gun again, and aim it faster!"
Voyager wanted to please his trainer, and he quickly flopped around and shot out a water gun at the Weedle. Even with the most simple Pokemon the battle was a challenge. Selek remained mostly calm however, keeping his original plan in mind.

Since Voyager had aimed quickly, his aim was not as good as it could be. Weedle, however, made a mistake which made this a little better. It thought that the Water Gun was not moving in the right direction at all, when in actual fact it had been just a little on target. As a result, Weedle remained where it was, not expecting to feel any pain until the last moment, but it was too late to do anything about it then. The caterpillar was struck by a little under half of the Water Gun, wincing. Water Gun wasn't a weak move, but it wasn't very powerful, either.
Weedle's only offensive move wasn't very powerful at all, although there was a chance of the foe getting poisoned; just a little less that a one in three chance, in fact. The Bug type used this move now, the Poison Sting being a little more accurate than Voyager's Water Gun, but not as accurate as last time.

Voyager flopped happily when he saw that his Water Gun had hit, and it was a fairly big accomplishment. However he was fairly blinded by this achievement to dodge the Poison Sting, which scraped him on the tail. It made him flip over so that he was no longer facing the Weedle, which only wasted time and slowed the already useless Magikarp down.
"Voyager! Turn around and use Water Gun again!" Voyager was lucky enough not to get poisoned, but that simply meant it was all the more likely to happen once the Poison Sting was sent out again. Voyager flipped himself around to see the Weedle, and again used Water gun. However, he did not remember to aim it as carefully as he had before-which only proved how bad at battling Voyager was.

This time, Weedle was correct in it's decision to remain where it was. The Water Gun hissed harmlessly by. This battle wasn't that hard, if a little strange. How hard could fighting a Magikarp be? Not very. Weedle thought it would win. If it didn't- well, how embarrassing would that be? Loosing to a Magikarp. The very idea was absurb. No, Weedle could not loose. Not to this fishy.
Weedle then readied it's attack. Last time, it hadn't tacken much care to prepare it's attack, but this time it did. As a result, it was more accurate. The Poison Sting shot through the air, heading towards Voyager.

"Voyager, dodge it!" Voyager blinked, and as it went to flop away the Poison Sting hit it at its full effect. The poor Magikarp flopped in pain, calling out as the effect of the Poison as it took its hold. "Voyager, come on-just a little longer and I'll heal you, alright?" Voyager replied by flopping weakly.
"Aim your attack carefully and shoot Water Gun at the Weedle! You have to do all you can, Voyager, even though it hurts." Picard only shook his head at the sad situation, and he communicated to Selek via his mind, "I told you choosing a Magikarp was a bad idea. We are about to loose to a Bug-type." "Are we? There's still time to turn this battle around." Picard simply sighed and didn't reply, obviously he didn't want to loose, and he wished that Selek had chosen a better Pokemon. It was to late now, though.

Weedle was struck by the attack, the Water Gun hitting spot on. It pounded the caterpillar into the ground, making it squeal in pain. The Weedle wondered where Voyager had got the strength for such an attack from. Well, never mind that now. Weedle had bigger problems to worry about; one, it was close to loosing to a Magikarp; two, it was upside down.
The fact that it was upside down would not be too much of a worry to any other Pokémon. However, Bug types tended to have trouble with this, and Weedle, although it would usually manage due to it's length, was having difficulty. Voyager could count himself lucky; Weedle wasn't moving, remaining in a fixed position and with one attack until it would faint.

When Voyager saw that his attack hit, hit well-and flipped the Weedle over, he went to cheer and flop happily about. However, the Poison simply sapped his health away as he went to do so, making him cry out in pain. "Hang in there, Voyager, please! Almost there, and then I'll heal you!" Voyager flopped in response. "~Okay, I'll hold on!~" Selek saw that his Magikarp's aim and power was slightly increasing as he became better at aiming. However, he had to always remind his Magikarp to aim, and shoot-unlike other Pokemon who probably would have hit their target.
"Voyager! Take your time and hit it with another Water Gun!" Voyager flopped around a bit, the Poison stung him, and so it would make his aim off as he was distracted by the pain. All the same, however, Voyager shot out a Water Gun at the upside-down Weedle, in the hopes of hitting it.
