Bellsprout had dodged, and felt quite pleased with itself for it. After all, any good trainer would, when they disabled their opponent, try to hit them. The Grass type was grateful that its species were well known for their dodging abilities. This next Lick came without hesitation, so would be harder to dodge. Well, the Bellsprout had dodged one attack, so why not two?! It attempted to dodge the Lick, but ended up being hit by the attack since it had judged it by the slower hesitated one earlier.
Cursing, Bellsprout got to its feet. That attack wasn't exactly a powerful attack, but pain is pain and pain is not good. It had been hit by two out of three Lick attacks now, and it was starting to show. However, Nova had also used a lot of Defensive attacks and so Bellsprout was merely feeling weaker, nothing too serious. It managed to shoot a Vine Whip this time, although it was a weak one. At least it was better than nothing.

Nova snickered when the attack had hit, seeing it more as being quite funny to watch the Bellsprout fall and curse at being hit. Of course, being distracted by this made it harder for Nova to realize that the Vine Whip attack had now had its power back. "Nova, dodge!" Nova opened her eyes in a confused look only to be smacked in the face by the weak vine-whip. Nova grumbled before speaking loud enough for the Bellsprout to hear. "~Little grass-type thinks they can win so easily by a little slap in the face?~" Nova didn't seem really angry, but couldn't resist mocking the grass type-admitting of course that the weak Vine Whip had hurt, if only a little.
"Nova, you need to focus, now." Selek urged, his last word a little sharp, and it got through to Nova. "Let's try Lick again!b] Nova focussed, not tyring to crack another sacarstic comment or joke, and also trying not to hesitate as it sent out Lick.

ooc// Sorry, but you can't use Lick and Hypnosis in the same turn. Also, I added the effects of PP-changers onto the rules

Bellsprout could see that Nova was hurt by the Vine Whip, no matter what she'd said. ~Yes, actually, I do think I could win by a little slap on the face. It's not as if you could take anything more than that, is it?~ it shot back, twisting her remark back around against her. The Lick hit the Grass type. This was because it had been ready to dodge something which had a hesitation, and that Lick had not had a hesitation.
Bellsprout remained standing, however. It wouldn't go down yet, although it was pretty tired. No, it was too determined to fall right now. It shot out another Vine Whip attack. This one was at full power, and looked pretty strong, too. It was aimed at Nova's face; after all, there wasn't much else to aim at, since Gastly are pretty much floating faces. Would the Vine Whip hit?

Nova almost began to laugh at the Bellsprout's joke, which would again make her be hit by the Vine Whip. No matter how weak the grass attack was on the ghost type, a Gastly's defense wasn't its best stat, and the weak grass attacks would begin to add up after awhile. Selek had gotten far with Voyager, a weak Magikarp-surely, he could get far with Nova, a Gastly? A stronger Pokemon? "Have faith in yourself, Selek. You know well you can beat the Bellsprout." Picard muttered, offering a very small smile in Selek's direction. At least Picard wasn't totally sarcastic.
"Nova, dodge the Vine-Whip!" Nova was caught in mid-laugh, and for once her speed stat came in handy, allowing her to just levitate out of the way of the Vine-Whip, as it crashed along the ground. "~If it is all I can take, it won't matter as long as you don't hit me with it!~" Nova laughed again, quite proud of herself and her little come-backs that her trainer could not understand. "Follow it up with Hypnosis, Nova!" Selek gained a little more confidence in his Pokemon, or maybe it was himself-or his Daemon. Either way he gained more confidence in something, and Nova sensed it just as well as Picard did. She hesitated, though as her last Hypnosis attempt had failed, Selek could only hope that it wouldn't matter much though the likelihood of that was slim.

Bellsprout was annoyed that Nova had dodged its Vine Whip. Urgh, that wasn't too good, was it? The Grass type needed to land another hit, and fast. It knew that it could probably only take about one more hit, and so it couldn't afford to be loosing any turns. But did that mean that Nova could also only take one more hit? Bellsprout didn't want to make any assumptions, but it did hope. At any rate, it needed to try and attack before it went down.
However, before it could attack, Nova had to have her turn. She was using a Hypnosis, and this time, Bellsprout was too weak to be able to resist the sleep-inducing move. The bulb Pokémon grew groggy as the move began to have an effect. Its anger at the fact that it was unable to use its next move and would probably faint while under the effects of this Hypnosis were dulled as its eyes closed and it sank into dreamland. Its eyes closed, and its breathing deapened.

Nova slowly felt her strength waining as well. She had some fight in her, seeing as grass type-moves didn't hurt her as much, she still had taken a lot of hits and wouldn't last much longer if the Bellsprout got another hit on her. But of course, she wasn't about to admit that she was about to give up, not when her humor-less trainer had just gained confidence in this battle, and certainly not after the Hypnosis acturally worked!
"Nova, one more good hit should end it. Use Lick!" Nova nodded, but she hesitated. Without the threat of being hit, and with the Bellsprout being unable to defend itself, Nova couldn't help but feel guilty about making it faint while sleeping. "Its alright, Nova! You'll get used to it!" Nova's floating head-body nodded slightly before unleashing the Lick.

It is quite hard to tell when a sleeping Pokémon is defeated, but there was no doubt about Bellsprout. Being asleep, it did nothing to stop the Lick. When it hit, the Grass type's whole body shuddered tremendously. If it were awake, it would probably have made some sound of pain. When it was done shuddering, it fell limp, twitching a little. It moaned. Its eyelids fluttered briefly, but it was all too much. Bellsprout fell still, not asleep but fainted.
Bellsprout was defeated! Nova gains two levels!

Nova smiled, quite overjoyed with herself. If the Bellsprout had landed a good Vine Whip on her, it probably would have caused Nova to faint, but that wasn't the point. The jokester that was this Gastly simply floating around Selek, singing some rhyme about how she won. A rhyme that made Picard chuckle, but was totally ignored by Selek. He was more concerned about the Bellsprout, and waited to see if it was going to recover eventually, or if he was going to gave to use another Potion before moving on.

ooc// Aw, no-one ever likes Bellsprouts!
ic// Bellsprout didn't really expect it'd wake up caught; despite their reasonably good movesets, good agility and strong evolutions, no-one seemed to like them. That was both an advantage and a disadvantage, since although it meant people were less likely to catch them, it also meant that trainers were prone to ignoring them entirely. Oh well, it was used to being an unwanted Pokémon. That was a fact of life for it.
It stirred after a little while, opening its eyes. Huh, surprise surprise, it was still a free Pokémon. Mind, it wouldn't have wanted to go with a trainer like Selek. He didn't seem to care at all about others, did he? The way he treated his daemon, his soul, a part of himself through whom he could feel the pain of every blow he gave his daemon. Not good, this trainer for sure had mental issues or something. Bellsprout made this conclusion, and got away pretty quickly, before Selek could try and catch it or something.
Continue to Route Two? You have been forever here!
