ooc// Mm, but Lightningbolt sounds like a brand of sports clothing.
ic// Munchlax beamed, practically buzzing with joy as her Metranome turned into Thunderbolt that hit. Oh, that was fantastic! The best news she'd had all battle! Thunderbolt was as powerful as two and a half Tackles! That made her giggle. What would half a Tackle look like? Kind of like how statistics were saying that the average woman had 1.9 kids or something like that. Suddenly, she found herself yawning. Whoops. She felt a horrible sense then; she would fall asleep soon.
She needed to get in another powerful attack quickly, then! Forgetting the fact that she might not get such a strong attack again since Metranome was completely random ((with Birdy's random generator )), she used the move before wincing with the fact that it wasn't such a good idea. She generated up a Muddy Water attack, a very strong move, but it was weakened by the fact that Munchlax was tired.

Demyx blinked as the muddy water attack began. There wasn't anyway to make Dyme dodge except jumping over the it and surfing the wave. Or he could use his power, but that didn't really seem fair to the Munchlax. "Dyme," he decided quickly, "See if you can jump over the wave, or go right through it or something, then try to use tackle." The Eevee complied and attampted to bounce over it, but, after being hit with two attack, could only get high enough to skim the water. His paws were dirty, but that was ok, he didn't care. He tried the tackle.
OOC: Yeah, it does XD but it would still be a much more efective attack XP

Munchlax was glad that her Metranome had resulted in a Muddy Water. Dyme had found the dodging difficult, and had been hit, after all. Hooray! Although his trainer had found a way to make the attack deal less damage, at least the fuzzy Eevee had been hit. Now, he was using a Tackle through the wave... oh, no. That wasn't too good. Maybe Munchlax would actually be able to make her first dodge; after all, the wave might make Dyme's attack move predictable.
Unfortunately for Munchlax, the Yawn took effect on the turn after it had been used. Because of that, it was then when she felt her eyelids drooping. Please no! Not now! She fought the feeling, but she had no more items. She felt herself slip into a slumber, a nice peaceful one. The sleep might make her previous hits' pain fade a little, but that was nothing compared to how Dyme could attack her while she was asleep. She was hit by the Tackle, her limp sleeping form rising into the air and crashing down. Ouch. She slept on, although that made her grunt.

Dyme smiled as the Munchlax fell asleep and he succesfully hit her. Demyx was about to call another comand, but paused for a moment. Should he try to catch the wild pokemon now? Or try to damage it first. "Use another tackle attack," he suggested to his Eevee softly, careful not to wake the sleeping pokemon up.

Munchlax remained asleep through Demyx's orders, and looked as if she was sleeping quite comfortably after the last attack. It also seemed like, despite being asleep, she was worn out. Almost as if- could the battle end soon, in Dyme's favour? It seemed very probable, but how on earth did a Pokémon faint if they were already asleep? Maybe the battle wouldn't end so quickly, then. Munchlax was hit by the Tackle, rising a little into the air before crashing down again.
The Normal type grunted as the wind left her lungs, and her eyes fluttered open. She was awake, but she somehow felt so much worse than when she'd fallen alseep. Just keeping her eyelids open was tricky. She fought against the blackness, but it got to her and the Pokémon fainted. Oh, so that was how a sleeping Pokémon fainted. The attacks would get to them and wake them, but then they would be defeated. Munchlax was now ready to be caught, if Demyx wished.
Munchlax is defeated! Dyme gains two levels!

"All right!" Demyx cheered, throwing fists in the air. He threw a pokeball at the Munchlax as Dyme came trotting back to his side, now a level seven Eevee. "Awesome, Dyme," he praised him, patting his head, "Good job!"

The Pokéball tapped the fainted Munchlax on the head, the Pokémon defensless again the capture device. However, once inside, she was given her chance to free herself. Although she was tired, her weight meant she found it easier to try as escape. However, she grew tired, and another trait that Munchlax bore came into play; laziness. She settled down. Ah, the trainer seemed nice enough, and with only one Pokémon he could do with another. She let the Pokéball click, announcing her successful capture.
Munchlax was caught!
Name: Species: Munchlax Gender: Female Level: 6 Ability: Thick Fat Attacks: Metranome, Odor Sleuth, Tackle, Defense Curl Personality: Munchlax is, like all Munchlax, very laid-back and greedy. She loves food, of course, and will do anything to get her paws on the stuff. She will fight fiercely in battle, since she is stubborn and has a strong sense of pride. She may act rather disrespectful to her trainer.

"Cool," Demyx murmered as the pokebal clicked once... twice... three times... and soon it clicked a louder, more defiant sound, verifying that the new trainer had caught the pokemon inside. He picked up the ball, holding it tightly in his hand, smiling. He had just caught his first pokemon. But it was hurt, and he would have to heal it soon.
"Dyme," he said, "Come on back, your hurt and deserve some rest." The Eevee flashed red as it returned to its pokeball, ready to rest.

It might have seemed like Route One was done giving challenges to Demyx, but it wasn't over yet. What with it being spring and all, Pokémon were starting to come out of hibernation and more springtime Pokémon were out and about. For example, the one Demyx was about to encounter. A large patch of bushes was lining the path, and occasionally it seemed to flutter in a breeze which wasn't actually there.
Eventually, as the end of the bushes came in sight, not too far off Route Two in fact, part of the bushes moved very obviously. Oh? It was a bit like the others swaying in a breeze, only this one was far more obviously not a breeze. Small eyes poked out, and finally an Oddish stepped out from the bushes where it had been perfectly camoflauged. That would explain all the off movements. Oddish smiled at Demyx, waiting to see what his reaction would be.

Demyx had been looking at the scenery when a pair of eyes appeared out of a small patch of bushes. He was stumming absently, but the music semed to fade away as he looked. Soon it emerged and he realized it was a pokemon. He shuffled around, fishing in his backpack once more for his pokedex. After pulling it out, it spoke, "During the daytime, Oddish buries itself in soil to absorb nutrients from the ground using its entire body. The more fertile the soil, the glossier its leaves become."
"Oddish," Demyx repeated, glancing over at Myde, "This is pretty cool. He's really cute." The trainer smiled, bending down and holding his hand out for the wild pokemon.

Oddish looked at Demyx's hand curiously. What an interesting apendige humans had just there! Of course, this Oddish seemed to be very young and hadn't met a human before. It sniffed the hand with great interest, before seeming to be satisfied that Demyx wasn't a threat. The little foot and a bit high rotund Pokémon grinnned happily up at the boy, tickling his hand with its leaves a little. It seemed absolutely thrilled to be meeting someone new, and so was a Pokémon with a very excitable, innocent and cheerful personality.
Oddish had heard about humans from its friends and relatives. They had told tales of Pokémon trainers, humans who caught Pokémon and trained them to be their very best. Some said this was bad, for the Pokémon might not want that, but others thought it was good, since it meant Pokémon grew stronger, saw new places, and at least the nice, understanding ones were kind. Oddish asked Demyx a question; if he didn't understand, his daemon would. ~Are you a trainer?~

Demyx laughed as the Oddish tickled his hand, and pulled it back. He glanced at Myde, seeing that the wild Oddish had said something, but he could only understand water types. "~Oddish asked if you were a trainer,~" the daemon told him, then turned to the Oddish without waitng for Demyx, "~He's a trainer~" The daemon was a vaoreon at the moment, it was his faveroite form.

Oddish seemed rather excited at the information that Demyx was a trainer. A trainer, how interesting! The Grass type knew he was currently only on Route One, so wasn't likely to have seen much stuff, but it did make it wonder what he would see in time to come. Trainers would see all sorts of interesting sights, meet all sorts of interesting Pokémon... it was great that it was meeting one, then! The Oddish waved its leaves happily.
Demyx must have met some Pokémon; after all, he'd have his starter with him! Oddish felt it might want to meet Demyx's Pokémon, but maybe they'd just fought a battle and needed rest. After all, it should respect other Pokémon's rights. The Grass type felt content with simply asking questions for now. ~Have you tried battling? I've never battled before. What's it like?~

Demyx smiled again at the Oddish, but turned back to Myde when it spoke again. "~Oddish wants to know if you've battle before; and what it's like,~" the daemon informed his human, not answering for him this time. "Oh-!" his gaze turned back to the wild pokemon, "I haven't battled, but my pokemon has; well, I only fought with Dyme, but he helped me catch my Munchlax. Would you like to see them?" He hoped Oddish could understand him, but because Demyx could only understand water types and Eevee and it's evolutions, he wasn't sure.

Oddish's face lit up in delight. See Demyx's Pokémon? That sounded like fun, fun fun! It would mean meeting new friends and stuff! He said that his Pokémon had battled. Oddish wanted to know what battling was like! It wanted to know being with a trainer was like! Yes, yes it did! It bounced up and down happily, the cheerful hyperactive Pokémon getting very excited. It nodded; it definately wanted to meet Demyx's Pokémon!
That put another idea into its large, round, adorable head. ~Can I perhaps... see what battling's like for myself?~ Oddish asked curiously.
