This Tackle, as usual, struck Oddish nice and easily. The defenseless Grass type had been an easy target yet again, and this Tackle seemed to be stronger than others. Because of this, Oddish stirred more than the previous times, rolling over restlessly. Too restlessly; its eyes fluttered open. Once it realised what was going on, those eyes narrowed and a growl slipped from its throat. The snarling was very strange coming from a cute little pudgy Oddish, but hey. Oddish didn't know that.
A wave of leaves sent Oddish into attack mode. It felt weaker than it had when it fell asleep, telling it that it had been attacked a fair bit while out. Now it was time to get Dyme back for all that! The bulb Pokémon shook itself, the clump of leaves on top of its head ruslting as a number of green beads for an Absorb attack spewed out.

Dyme backed off a bit as Oddish woke up. It couldn't forget to ask it's question. He mostly dodged the absorb, but, like the first time, a few of the green colored orbs stuck to his fur and drained his evergy. Demyx thought that he would try out another attack, since the only attack Oddish seems to be able to do is absorb. Perhaps sand-attack could help stop that from hitting? Doesn't it lower the accuracy?
"Use sand-attack, Dyme!" the trainer called, hoping he thought right. His pokemon glanced around, found a sutible place to throw the sand, and began tossing it towards the Oddish.

Oddish stumbled back a bit as the Sand-Attack hit it full in the face. It blinked, its eyes covered in sand. Eeeeee, that was annoying. So very annoying. If only it had arms to wipe the dirt away! Instead, it wriggled its leaves over them, brushing away the worst of it away. Blinking hard, it knew that there was nothing it could do to recover the accuracy stat lost until after the battle. It would just have continue with a poor accuracy.
Oddish was feeling reasonably weak by now, as one more attack would make it faint. But what could it do? With a poor accuracy, it decided that perhaps now would be use a Sweet Scent, since a smell didn't need accuracy to be smelt. A pink gas drifted away, the Sweet Scent making a heavenly scent.

The Eevee, who was a bit far from the Oddish, didn't scent the the oder of the attack just yet. He began another tackle, as is was the only attack it had that actually did damage. He started his attack, backing up a bit before going, full speed. The scent of the Oddish's attack hit him then, slowing the speed of his tackle, but he tried hard to keep on.
OOC: What does Sweet Scent do? XP

ooc// Sweet Scent basically makes the Pokémon unwilling to do much, and lowers evainess.
ic// Oddish was pleased to see the Sweet Scent hit the nose of Dyme as he came charging. It could see clearly that this Tackle would be less powerful because of it, but wasn't sure whether or not it would still be strong enough to make it faint or not. Better safe than sorry, right? Going by that, it would want to avoid the attack. The rounded Pokémon attempted to toddle out the way on its stubby little feet, but those feet weren't too accostomed to moving quickly. It isn't hard to picture what happened next.
The Tackle grew nearer and nearer to Oddish, and finally connected with the Grass type. The Pokémon nearly escaped, to be honest, but the poor little thing managed to get hit all the same. With a loud squeal, it collapsed to the ground after impact, fighting the draws of defeat. Its eyelids felt heavy, and it knew that even if it did get back up it wouldn't be likely to be able to attack too well for the rest of the battle. It still struggled, however, but there was little hope for it now. The Pokémon's eyes closed, and it fainted.
Oddish was defeated! Dyme gains a level! Catch Oddish, look for more Pokémon or continue to Route Two?

Dyme fell over as well, obviously exhasted, and slightly intoxicated from the Sweet Scent oder, which still lingered in the air. Demyx went over to his Eevee and picked him up, returning him before throwing an empty pokeball at the wild Oddish. He also returned Munchlax, thinking he would have to think of a name for her soon, who was snozing lightly near some other bushes. Let's head onto Route Two, soon, he thought, also wondering if the ball would catch Oddish.

The Pokéball made a soft cu-thunk as it tapped Oddish's side, drawing it in; the Pokémon had no means to stop this from happening while fainted. The Pokéball twitched a few times, but the Grass type didn't really mind being caught. After all, if it went with Demyx, it would be able to meet all sorts of interesing friends! As the Pokéball announced a sucessful capture, it was noticable that it was growing dark. Demyx might just be able to reach Route Two before he needed to pitch his tent, then perhaps he might meet some nocturnal Pokémon.
Oddish was caught! You may now continue to Route Two!
Name: Species: Oddish Gender: Level: 6 Ability: Chlorophyll Attacks: Absorb, Sweet Scent Personality: Oddish is a bubbly, cheerful, happy-go-lucky Pokémon. It will take a lot to make it sad, and it is content with pretty much everything, easy to please. Overall, it's a very nice Pokémon to be with, if a little over-friendly.

"All right!" Demyx cheered as the ball clicked for the third time. The name for this pokemon came instantly, though, unlike Munchlax. "Here we go," he went to go pick it up, and spoke again, "Marly." He named the Oddish, and stood up, ready to move on, but he would have to heal his pokemon soon.
