Buizel jumped a little as each Scratch rained down on him, wanting to get up but unable to wake from his slumber. It hurt but…he was just so darn sleepy. His tail lashed from side to side as he slept, whimpering as yet another one of Star’s Scratches hit him. Finally, after the fourth attack he awoke abruptly, spluttering in the rain just as Sky had been able to bend down and pick him up. Panicking and somewhat unaware of what was happening, he used Quick Attack, speeding away afterward to sit a safe distance from the Kitu and her trainer. He was quite tired—Star had done a number on him while he was sleeping. He struggled to sit up—one more attack, and he’d probably be down. Hopefully he could dodge, but…he yawned widely, falling back onto all fours again. The drizzling rain felt good, but as it began to turn into large droplets that smacked his back, he shivered as well, enjoying the water but unhappy with the pressure that came with each drop.

"Use another Scratch, Star," Sky said, digging out a pokeball from her bag. The Kitu complied as the drops began to hurt. Her claws extended as she drew near the Buizel. Sky got a pokeball ready as she and Cloud began to head under a tree. She hoped the wild pokemon wouldn't mind getting caught, though, it was the one who suggested a battle.

Buizel saw the Pokeball, and he smiled a little. Well, the Kitu was a good fighter—if that winged Trainer could train him to fight like that, he would be happy. Even so, he wanted to do his best in the battle, and he tried to duck to the side and slip under Star’s claws as she used Scratch. Had he been more awake or not so tired, he would have dodged, but as it was he stumbled and buckled as the claws slammed down on top of him, falling to the ground once more with a plop in the mud. Looking up at Star, he muttered, ”Good…work!” before his eyes closed and he became still, the steady rise and fall of his side being the only indication that he was alive. He’d have to get used to living in a Pokeball, but that would be okay—he’d have food, shelter, and something like a family. Yep, that was okay with him.
Buizel was defeated! Star gained 2 levels!

Sky smiled. The Buizel didn't seem to mind being caught. She tapped the picked him up out of the mud and let the rain rinse him off before tapping the pokeball on his fur. She walked out of the rain, sort of, under a tree. The drops still hit them because of the rain, but she wrapped her wings around Cloud, Star and her as she waited for the click that the wild pokemon had been caught.

Buizel disappeared into the Pokeball with a stream of red light. The storm seemed to be getting somewhat worse, and as they were walking to the tree, there was a flash accompanied by a faint clap of thunder overhead. Other wild pokemon were most certainly hunkering down, although a few bug-types shook the ferns farther away. Meanwhile, the Pokeball that held Buizel shook once in Sky's hand, then twice--clearly, although the wild Pokemon had accepted being caught, he was surprised by the confinements of the Pokeball. However, it seemed that all would be well, because after a few more seconds, there was a satisfactory click that announced that the capture had been successful.
Buizel was caught!
Name: ---- Species: Buizel Gender: Male Level: 6 Ability: Swift Swim - When the weather is rain, this Pokemon's speed doubles. Attacks: Sonicboom, Growl, Quick Attack, Water Gun, Water Sport Personality: He tends to be fairly upbeat, but always thinks about things before rushing into situations he is unsure about, although he's not over-the-top cautious. He isn't afraid to give encouragement to others and in general is a good sport. While he enjoys playing in water and rain like most Buizels do, however, he seems not to like thunderstorms for some reason.

Sky huddled next to Cloud and Star with her wings wrapped around and over them, the front slightly open for light, along with the top. Her feathers kept the three warm, but the drops plus the wind began to hurt. She relesed the Buziel. He appeared with the red light from his pokeball. "Do you know where any shelter close to here is?" she asked him, standing up, Cloud, still a mudkip, on her shoulder. ~Can I go in my Pokeball?~ Star asked, while Buizel nodded. Sky returned her blue colored Kitu and followed Buizel as he replied, "Yep; there's a tree where you can hide under the roots." They followed him silently, as they all wanted to dry off and get the heavy drops to stop pelting them.

At the tree Buizel had suggested sat a Wooper. He wasn’t under the roots taking shelter, but merely sitting on them, smacking his tail every so often against the base of the tree and humming to himself as he watched the storm. He seemed to enjoy it, for every time the drops of water hit his skin he grinned with pleasure. As he spotted the trainer hurrying over with the Mudkip-dæmon and a Buizel in the lead, he nodded to them, seeming quite unconcerned. He had seen Trainers along the way here before, and they were all generally quite friendly, although he had never wanted to go with one before. ”Yo!” he called, raising his tail in welcome. ”There’s still some space underneath here. Nice wings, by the way,” he added to the Trainer, wondering if she would be able to understand herself or if her dæmon would have to translate.

"Thank you," Sky smiled as she and Cloud got near the tree, while Buizel simply surried in. She made her way over and gently shook her wings to try to rid them of water before climbing under as well, her Daemon behind her, who had shifted curiosly into the form of a Wooper for a second before a Pidgey. He nodded respectfuly to the wild pokemon before taking refuge in the roots.

Underneath the roots, it was actually surprisingly warm, and not very damp. At the very least, there was no more rain pounding down on their backs. However, it was dark; because of the storm and since they were in somewhat of a small cavern, there was very little natural light. Wooper sat outside, continuing to watch the storm as he thought to himself. So the winged Trainer had been able to understand him. He grinned a little as he remembered how her dæmon had shifted forms briefly for a second into one that mirrored his own. What had he felt like to be a Wooper? There was a Buizel, too, clearly one of the Trainer's Pokemon. The more he thought, the more he wanted to talk to them, so he hopped off his branch after a couple of minutes had passed. Descending a few steps into the 'den' underneath the roots, he called, "'Sup, it's me, Wooper, everything all right in there?"

"Yo," Sky replied, "As far as I can tell, we're all alright..." She glanced at Cloud, who was huddled by her side under her wing as a Pidgey. Buizel was skaking the water out of his fur. "I'm good," he told her, cirling up against her other side. It was warm in the roots under the tree, and cozy, plus big enough for all of them Star was in her pokeball, so she was fine. "Yep," Sky nodded, "We're all fine. How about you?"

"Hey, hey, I like this kind of weather," Wooper grinned, coming to sit in the hole, too. While he enjoyed the dampness and rain in the outside storm, there was something particularly cozy and inviting about sharing the shelter with the Trainer, her dæmon, and her Pokemon. ”So, I guess you must be a pretty new Trainer, huh? I know the Lab’s down back that way a bit, been around once or twice to check it out. Looks kind of creepy from the outside, but the guy and his dæmon are quite nice—I got a tasty treat from them, once. Not sure what it was, but boy it was good!” Wooped leaned back a little, his eyes becoming unfocused as he remembered the spicy block that the man and his Noctowl dæmon had fed to him. He had felt…somehow, cooler once he had eaten it. ”Say, since you’re a trainer, you might know what they are? They’re these block things—the one he gave me was red, but I saw him give another Pokemon a yellow one. Dunno how he made them, though.”

"I like it too," Sky replied, "Just not when it hurts so bad." She smiled, then looked thoughtfull at his question. "Red blocks?" she began, "Maybe Pokeblocks? I've never made them but I've heard a bit about them. Maybe I should make them for my Pokemon.... and some wild ones too, like you, of course." She laughed. "Could you tell me more about them?"

Wooper frowned, tapping one of his horns with his tail as he thought. ”To tell the truth, I don’t know much about them myself. I mean, I know about that red one—the only other thing I can tell you is it made me feel…hmm…more hip, I should say.” He flashed a grin at Cloud before going on. ”I just remembered something! The wild Pokemon who that guy fed the yellow block to—you call them Pokeblocks? Anyway, that other wild Pokemon—I think he was a Zigzagoon—said it was really bitter. Good, but bitter. Does that help you at all?” He sniffed, hearing the thunder getting more faint. Perhaps the storm was going to stop soon. He didn’t really like that; after all, he was having fun chatting with this Trainer and getting down to the mystery of the red spicy block, and he liked the rain as well, even if Sky said it hurt. To him, it was comfortable. He didn’t mind that she didn’t like it, though, because after all, he was most certainly a water-type and she was probably some sort of Flying-type Pokemorph, judging by her feathery wings and her Pidgey dæmon.

Sky nodded. "Yep," she replied, "I think it's a Pokeblock. I could probably ask about them in the next town, but I wouldn't be able to tell them about you, then, would I? Hmmmm...." Cloud retured his grin with a small smile as his human thought. "I would offer for you to come with us, but I think it's probably far away from wherever you live..."

Considering, Wooper tapped his tail some more. He didn’t really want to leave his home, yes, and he did enjoy being the independent one. Still, he liked Sky’s company, and he rather did want to find out the mystery of the red ‘Pokeblocks.’ Not only that, but if he was with a Trainer, he’d be able to get much stronger—maybe he could even evolve into a Quagsire! That would be simply grand. He hemmed and hawed for a while longer, and as he did so the sound of drops stopped outside, signaling that the worst part of the storm, at the very least, was finally over. Eventually, he stood up, making a decision. Honestly, he said, ”Y’know, I like you guys, and I do want to find out the Pokeblocks. Not only that, but I want to learn those chill attacks like Earthquake and stuff—no way I’ll ever learn those on Route One. But I like doin’ what I want to do, and those Pokeballs don’t seem too friendly, I mean come on, they’re tiny! Anyway, I think if you guys can best me in a battle, I’ll join your merry band. Maybe if I go with you, I’ll be able to get a pair of BlackGlasses.” He nodded, satisfied with the conclusion he had reached. Why BlackGlasses? Who knew.
