A black form made its way along Route 1. It was shrouded in a long dark cloak and by its side was a Weavile who was happily keeping up with a wide grin on his face. And a Charmander keeping up happily. Suddenly the cloaked figure removed its hood to reveal a mop of dark blonde hair a small pair of ruff looking Eevee ears. The trio carried on walking as Rin spoke, without looking anyone in the eye, "You're name is Airi now. Let's work hard together." The Charmander held a claw in her mouth as she looked up at her trainer with awe and inspiration. She was a very nervous Pokemon but she agreed that it seemed Rin would look after her with her entire might. Still holding a claw in her mouth the Charmander nodded with a amazed look on her face. Kiyoshi smiled at the little Charmander and stroked her head with a claw, "Don't worry Airi, Rin'll never let you down and neither will I." At this Airi gave a slight smile before nodding again and muttering in acceptance, "Uh." It seemed these three would have a long journey ahead of them, and that the beginning they were making now was merely goiong to be a shadow in the future.

As Rin walked, spring was all around her. Flowers on the ground, blossoms in trees, warmth, even little butterflies no bigger than an average human toe. It was all very lovely, and the relaxed atmosphere was making most Pokemon calm and peaceful. However, there was still one Pokemon about who was violent. It was looking around hopefully for some weak Pokemon to battle. It had trained long and hard, and so felt it was ready to beat something. Finally, the Skorupi set eyes on Rin. A trainer, and a new one. Easy peasy! Skorupi scuttled in front of Airi, looking like it was about to attack.

Airi watcehd as the purple Pokemon scuttled toward her. Her claw still in her mouth she looked at it inquisitively. Kiyoshi and Rin watched also as it scurried toward the Charmander. Kiyoshi had no idea what it had in mind and stared at it as it prattled along teh ground in a seemingly attacking mode. The Weavile looked up at his human as if to say, 'what do you think?'. Rin ignored her Pokemon that had a slightly more timid approach to the Pokemon and before it reached ehr Charmander she leant down adn picked the Pokemon up by its long bendy tail tip and held it up next to her face but a short distance away. Looking at it as she twisted it in her hands she looked down at her Charmander and asked with no expression, "Do you want to battle it Airi?" The Charmander continued to hold its claw in its mouth before lokoing at the Skorupi struggling in her trainer's hand. Airi thought for a moment and then gave a short nod accompanied with her claw coming out of her mouth and her claws starting to glow. Rin replied to her Pokemon by throwing teh Skorupi onto the floor and then her Charmander running toward it with a Metal Claw attack. Kiyoshi laughed awkwardly, caught in Rin and Airi's pace.

Skorupi was pleased to see Airi moving towards it with a Metal Claw. Yes, a battle! That was good, Skorupi was a fighter who loved to gain as much experience as it could in order to become the toughest Pokémon ever. It snarled a determined sound as the Charmander came nearer, ready to strike back. The scorpian almost managed to dodge, but unfortunately for it Airi's metallic claw struck a neat slash down its side. It growled in annoyance, but wasn't going to let a simple scratch stop it, however painful.
It could attack too, both offensive and stat changing. Right now, it felt it wanted to get back at Airi and its brain was clouded in anger. Because of this fury, it was unable to think straight and so rather than thinking up a strategy to last perhaps even several turns, it simply attacked. The Skorupi moved in for a well practiced, strong and accurate Bite attack. It was hoping for a hit of course, but would that happen?

"Airi dodge it and attack again." Rin stated in a faint monotone. It wasn't much of an order of an instruction since it lacked detail, but the Charmander easily managed to dodge despite her timid nature. Swerving to her left the Charmander watched as the bite failed in front of her, and again she raised a claw before it glowed and aimed for the Skorupi's back that was in front of her after its attack had failed. Kiyoshi watched the Charmander carefully, she was a timid and quiet thing but seemed to have a good sense of battling. He smiled as he watched, eager to know what battling style Rin and Airi could figure out.

Skorupi hissed his annoyance as he watched Airi dodge. Urgh, that wasn't nice. The scorpian was angry at the salamander for dodging, but had to keep going of course. The Metal Claw presently threatening him again managed to hit, unfortunately, dealing a good bit of damage and making the scorpian cry out in pain. That had hurt, and like most Pokémon he wasn't the sort who enjoyed being hurt. Skorupi was getting more and more angry, and so more and more out of control.
As Skorupi began to ready another Bite, he realized that his anger was getting the better of him. He needed to think properly and attack nicely. The Bug type took several deep breaths, calming down enough to make eye contact with Airi in a Leer in hope of lowering her defense stat- some tactics at work. He then, rather than sending out a powerful Bite, fired an accurate but weak Poison Sting in hopes of poisoning Airi.

Rin watched as the Skourpi calmed himself and led a stragetised assault. The Leer struck the unexpected Charmander and she staggered backwards as several posionous barbs were sent in her direction. Once the attack was over, the Charmander seemed to be damaged from the move combination but luckily she seemed to have no status change. That was good. Rin then thought ut her own stratergy and called out, "Airi, level the playing field with a Growl and then use a Scratch attack this time round." The Charmander listened intently and then threw back her arms and lifted ehr head as she growled to lower the opponent's attack and then she ran toward it with a claw ready to rake along its side.

Skorupi bared his teeth briefly as he felt the Growl lower his attack stat. That was not the most wanted of things during a battle; it seemed that every time he tried to gain an advantage with his Leer, Airi would simply outbalance it with one of her Growls. How annoying... still, he could win with or without a stat advantage. The Scratch raked his side while he was in thought, making him cry out in pain. Urgh, that hurt! He turned around, eyes glinting with rage as he looked at his opponent.
He longed to use another powerful Bite, but felt that perhaps it would still be better to stick to the Poison Sting. If he did manage to poison Airi, that would put him at an advantage as she would then be loosing health every turn whether or not he attacked. Then again, until that happened, he'd only be dealing tiny amounts of damage compared to the Metal Claw and Scratch Airi might be using. He wanted to catch up. To do so, he lunged for her with jaws at the ready.

Airi was taken by surprise as the Skorupi turned around after the scratch attack and bit down hard on her arm. The Charmander yelped in pain; although the growl had lowered the power of the bite, it was still a pretty powerful move in its own right. Airi watched the purple scorpian on her arm and then was calmed as her traienr called out a useful stategy, "Airi if you want the Skorupi to let go of your arm you should use force and hit him hard." Rin's daemon looked up at her and sighed heavily as he shook his head muttering under his breath, "You could at least be a little more positive about it Rin..." The Charmander heard her trainer... So Rin wasn't ordering what to do but she was hinting. Airi thought up her own little strategy and held the Skorupi down on the ground with the arm he was clamped down on and use her other arm to glow a silver colour and then slam down on the poison type in a Metal Claw attack.

Skorupi knew that in a battle, a trained Pokemon generally had the advantage over a wild Pokemon because they had a human to help them grow faster and think up strategies and become tough from travelling harsh places. Luckily for him, it seemed Airi no longer had the strategy one since the girl was being awfully simple with her obvious orders of 'attack' and such. The scorpian gave a slight smile as he saw the Charmander prepare a Metal Claw, quickly letting go and darting away, managing to avoid the attack by a hair's breadth.
Still, at least the main aim of Airi's attack had been fulfilled; Skorupi had let go. He hadn't been hurt, either, so thought it safe to say he was on even terms for this battle. That meant it would most likely be safe to use a Poison Sting without putting himself at a disadvantage. The scorpian felt that it still wasn't ideal, though... Unless, of course, it was a stronger move. Oh, how could he have forgotton! The Pokemon locked eyes with Airi, trying to look as scary as possible to try and lower the Charmander's defense stat before he sent a Poison Sting zipping through the air.

Airi felt her confidence disappear as the Skorupi struggled from her grasp and dodged the attack that Airi had decided to perform herself. It turned out she oculdn't do anything by herself anyway, and soon enough her defense was lowered and a poison sting was sent at her, tumbling ehr backwards as the poisonous barbs dug into her skin. The Charmander stood herself up. She didn't have much confidence in herself at all anymore. Her trainer had given a slight trust in her, and she had let her down. SHe was useless. As useless as she ever was. There was no point in battling anymore... "Airi, are you alright?" Huh? What was that? The Charmander lifted her drooping head and turned in shock to look at her trainer. Rin had asked if she was alright? Rin. Rin who seemed to have no emotion. Rin, the trainer who she had betrayed her trust in. The Eeveemorph seemed... concerned? Airi stared at her trainer in shock and didn't give a reply. Rin walked over to her CHarmander, her charcoal cloak flowing by her sides as she did so and bent down to check her Charmander.Once Rin had checked the lizard over she patted its head and spoke without expression, "You're fine. There's no poisoning. Try another Metal Claw." The Charmander stared intently at her trainer, deeply into her soft brown eyes, and then she nodded in the new found confidence. Rin cared. Rin cared deeply for her. She wouldn't fail. No way. Turning rapidly to face the Skorupi, Airi dashed frward and flung bakc both arms, as both claws on either hand began to glow a silver colour - her eyes locked onto the Skorupi, the Charmander was ready to launch a Metal Claw in a cross-like fashion.

Skorupi could see that the trainer who had previously seemed so uncaring appeared to be wanting to help out her Pokémon. Hm, whatever. He didn't care. He watched as Airi appeared to gain a new confidence from it, slicing at him in a Metal Claw. Yowch, he didn't really want that to hit! He could dodge though, right? Yeah, easy. The Charmander was weakening. It was true that he was too, but he could still dodge, right? The scorpian turned out to prove himself wrong, ending up with Charmander claws slicing his skin.
Skorupi cried out in pain, glaring at the opponent who had caused him that pain. He was angry. Very angry. The Pokémon snarled, launching himself for the salamander- then his eyes widened in shock. The Pokémon had just realized that he wasn't as strong as he had thought he was; his legs gave in, collapsing. The scorpian fell, crying out as he did so. He shook with effort of clinging onto conciousness as he glared at Airi, but then his body relaxed and his eyes closed.
Skorupi was defeated! Airi gains two levels!

Rin stared out toward the Skorupi that fainted because of her Charmander. Airi stood there panting, exhausted from the battle herself. The Charmder's orange belly rised and deflated with the pant of her breath, and the flame on her tail was burning brightly - signally that she was healthy despite the damage she'd taken. Rin leant down and pattted the Charmander on the head, stroking it gently before muttering with a hidden expression, "Good job." The Eeveemorph then stood up and threw a Pokeball at the fainted poison/bug type - a Skorupi would prove a good addition to Rin's team (plus Angel loves Skorupi ^_^). Kiyoshi, meanwhile happily walked over to Airi and smiled at her, rubbing her orange head enthusiastically and saying encouragingly and chuckling to himself, "That's was great Airi, you won your first battle, plus you know the move Ember now. Great job. Really great job. With you here, I might not be needed anymore." The Weavile continued to congratulate the CHarmander whilst Airi had her eyes on Rin who had trusted her greatly and not scolded her. Meanwhile, Rin carefully watched her Pokeball.

ooc// I know. The random generator must like Angel.
ic// The Pokéball tapped the fainted Skorupi on the shoulder, making the Pokémon twitch ever so slightly as he was drawn inside. That twitch couldn't mean anything, could it? The Pokéball began to shake very violently once Skorupi was inside, and the scorpian was clearly putting up a pretty strong fight. Was, perhaps, he going to escape? It sure looked like it, unfortunately. That wasn't good. It seemed that Rin's first capture attempt would prove a failure when the Pokéball suddenly stilled, then clicked, indicating success.
Skorupi was caught!
Name: Species: Skorupi Gender: Male Level: 6 Ability: Battle Armour- Opponent’s moves cannot Critical Hit. Attacks: Bite, Poison Sting, Leer Personality: This Skorupi looks after himself and is very stubborn indeed. He is definately a solitary Pokémon, but may eventually warm up to more people or Pokémon he feels he has to protect. He is a very tough, determined fighter, pretty much made for battling although he won't always listen.

Once the Pokeball pinged, Rin gently leant down and grabbed the small ball, placing it inside her coat that held two other full Pokeballs. Rin then looked back toward her Charmander with a deep and focused stare. It was a confusing stare considering Rin seemed to be emotionless whenever she did or said anything but Kiyoshi knew Rin all too well to understand every action that she performed. Rin's gaze looked slightly to the right of her Charmander and looked at the Weavile daemon who had his arms crossed and a smug, knwoing grin on his face - the Weavile snuffed happily at Rin and she turned, flapping her coat as her back faced teh pair of Pokemon. SHe then muttered, "Let's go." Airi looked up at the Weavile daemon, he was like a big brother figure to her now and he understand Rin more than she did. Airi wanted to learn about Rin and become friends with her, she wanted to trust her - but this would take time for them to develop a deep bond. Even longer considering that Rin seemed pretty hard to crack and Airi herself was extremely timid and barely talked. Kiyoshi sighed and shook his head as he chuckled, tapping Airi on the head he smiled a large smile and ran to Rin's side, "Come on." Airi was taken back slightly but then her fete began to run as the fire type caught up to the Eeveemorph and the daemon as the team carried along Route 1.
